he(WALID) basically stated he wanted to see real fundation and groove, real popping not tricks during the salah klassic battle.he said this is a popping battle not trick.so he wanted to see REAL popping..well hoan showed real popping and boogalo on the beat and sweepy is a legend and all but he was off beat and doing trick after trick with shorter rounds...not facing his opponent he looks like hes battling the judge.he(walid) contradicts himself...explain that please >_>.its ok he made a mistake in the call dont justify :LOL

I think people are annoyed with seeing an almost totally one sided battle in their opinion and the judge disagreeing. I actually do think Hoan killed him in ever round, sweepy was sloppy, ther is musicality but nothings tight and he faced the crowd and judge for most of it, thats not a battle. Its one thing to be a legend in the game i get it, Pele is a legend in soccer but i dare say ronaldinho would kill him everytime. still a result for fans that just wanna watch as hoan went thru every round. gotta say hes looking on form recently and amazing to watch.

I agree I've seen far better from Sweepy, and I am by no means a Hoan groupy. For me the timing and lack of cleanliness I was not feeling. I know Sweepy is an OG. I love and respect his energy and the fun he is having while performing that a lot of poppers today do not have. I was under the impression that not only Popping but Popping on beat in the cut was a crucial aspect in a popping battle. I'm not over the top with being on beat like let's say another OG Slick Dogg but I do place heavy value upon it. I get it that not everyone will come out and Fresno throughout their set but I'd like to see some of it because without it to me it gets watered down and resembles something else that is not popping. Sleepy has a unique style which I respect too many people are out there biting moves n styles. The video did not leave much information on the battle itself which probably added confusion. Being Totally objective Hoan won that hands down.

this shouldnt be the case but by hoans go at the last round i genuinely thought "sweepy is just ok in the battle..... hoan clearly had more control, tighter pop, nice feel.... hes gonna pick sweepy isnt he?......... yup" They should introduce bans from judging after 3 bad decisions in a year or something

james tyler I agree that the comments can seem harsh but theyr talking about the dance and this battle and not him as a person. anyone who has met him, or even seen a few of his battles knows hes a nice guy and is a great popper. Just here the majority think hoan took every round. I have wondered how other poppers feel in such decisions like when green and salah lost against Neo and Tony at bust a move. I know you shud do anything because you love to do it, and winning isnt everything thats true, but at some point a competition for a cash prize seems pointless when the decisions are so strange.

also if u wanna count actual "pops" in that battle where he said that, salah did have more by far. I think some of the Ogs just like a certain style and are stuck in their ways tbh when weird decisions happen.

I wanna add, watch while muted, watch when sweepy actually pops and try to tap to the beat of the track while muted, hoans pops are stronger and cleaner, u wont be able to do it watching sweepy.

I understand he's the judge and at the end of the day he calls the shot mate. But still. I just see a lot of fresh Pete moves right here and thats all. Without any hate to Hoan guys. Maybe thats why Sweepys style looks like from Another planet here, cause he built his style after almost all his life (from a Boogie boy, during the EB late 90's/early 00's era till nowadayz. In my opinion, after watching it again hoan took the first round and the 2nd/3rd were too close to call. I would of said a tie but I favoured hoan slightly more in the last round. Hoan should of taken it but if you put it down to less predictable moves, funkier, changing levels etc...then sweepy had it but if you're talking about musicality, technique, harder hitting then hoan was better in this battle. They both showed versatility in styles, took risky moves, large moves and made use of all limbs, they both used the space around then well and changed levels with their dancing. Sweepy took his dancing to the ground, showing more diversity in his popping, where as hoan is all around good at everything so it makes it a tough one to judge. If you don't understand sweepy's style (or both poppers styles) then it can be difficult to reason with the judges.
