Agree, Puerto Rico have been in 10 Olympics and 15 World Cups way more than any other European country, tied in the 3rd place with Canada as the countries with more appearances in the World Cup. Not to say PR is better than anyone but is very important that people understand that Puerto Rico is not new in this, we just went through some dark moments in the past few years, but we always have been part of the biggest stages of the Basketball!

While luck does have some impact on the result, basketball is not really based on it that much, otherwise we wouldn't have back-to-back champions in a bunch of leagues and tournaments worldwide. If I was to build a tier list, I'd put Lithuania somewhere at the bottom of the B tier, with the US as the only country in the S tier. We're just not a contender for any titles for quite a while now, and we're always a heavy underdog against any A-tier teams like Spain, Serbia, or France. Our basketball system is like a decade behind everyone else's, both in nurturing talents and building strong foundational gameplay strategies. And it shows.
