That's super cool!! Great job on taking the next step into scratch building!! Your work is clean 👌 so you're definitely ready for scratch building! I have done similar builds and just turned the whole body of the donation kit as a flip top body. Model shows or Facebook market place is a great avenue to get kits cheap 5 bux each 10 bux each. To start getting a parts supply built up. To key things I all ways use in my scratch building is tamyia extra thin plastistruct plastic weld cement. And I make sprue glue to fill gaps and weld parts. It doesn't shrink up and crack like most fillers. Take a 1/4 filled bottle of tamyia extra thin and some sprue a few peices at a time till they melt. And you want a thick result. If you it becomes too thick, just add more cement. When storing it as long as the cap stays shut, it will remain thick and the same way as when you first made it. Congratulations great build!!
