It would be nice if the announcers didn't talk during the player intros. They have plenty of time after the intros to talk. Other than that great job.

Oh good I don't have to watch Buhr line up his shot for a minute or two like the live stream. If you are going to have a 30 second rule, enforce it.

Rate of play is already a snail's pace because there isn't a counter before you line up a shot. So you can take a few minutes walking a line and then step up to throw. The 30 second rule feels completely pointless when rate of play is ignored in every other fashion. But we have a sport currently where your competitors are the referee which is absolutely moronic.

Watching this footage makes realize how much easier hole 7 is now. About 20-30 feet where removed from the right side guardian trees down in the valley. The old shot was a hyzer-flip-to-straight then finishing right at the very end. We had 3 birdies in 4 years. I there was 30+ birdies this year.

Hole 10 par 5 ‘999 feet 11- ‘760 par 4 12- par 3. 300 ish. Gap is extremely tight. 13- par 4 around 700 something- importance is landing zone and OB at the basket and all left. 14- par 3 370. 3 tiny gaps off the tee. 15- par 4 tiny tee gap. Extremely up hill after that. Plays around 550ish. 16- Brian elhert ace. 17- par 4 500 plus. Tee shot is very tough to carry the direction you wanna go. Fastest green on the tour. 18- par 5. Good luck. Either take your par or try your best to save your par.

@@lucasmuller8074 you'd think in the business of plastic molding discs the profit margins would be insanely large. (Last year Innova made $40.6 million w/ 200 employees) A few cents to create a $15-20 disc. But tournaments are largely run by volunteers. I suppose once predatory marketing companies (aka advertisements) invest more in the sport so the corporate disc golf companies can keep raking in large profits we'll see more change. It's typical trickle down economics, which is perfectly captured in the prison movie "The Platform". A 100 story verticle prison has a dumbwaiter with a buffet large enough for everyone, and decends every couple minutes. But everyone below the 20th floor dies due to greed.

95% of Ian’s commentary adds nothing to the viewing experience, just stating the obvious, weird reaction noises into the mic and forced quips. He seems like he doesn’t really know the course and is just making stuff up on the fly. Reminds me of the “boom goes the dynamite” kid haha

This is more than a champ course. It offers you open gaps and you must choose out of 3 ways to birdie the hole off the tee. The rough isn’t too bad, elevation, par 5’s ace runs. All of the above. Houck did a good job with this course.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Quite worrying so much about time, every human is different. There are people with disabilities that are accommodated in the real world, and sometimes it takes them more time. You never know, niko may have some type of issue where he needs more time to process. This attitude of hurry up needs to stop. It’s a recreational sport for most people.
@YashaKoman
@YashaKoman Жыл бұрын
Gannon and Nikko aren’t playing at a recreational level, believe me that those two aren’t the only slow players. I actually played this tournament and I’ve also played with Gannon before at a tournament. He takes an abnormal amount of time and causes backups! (Jacob isn’t my real name)
@jcrow62
@jcrow62 Жыл бұрын
@@YashaKoman Spicy! Well, I understand where you are coming from but what I'm talking about doesn't have to do with Amateur or pro status. I'm talking about the understood notion that some people need more time to process. Some people have disabilities related to this. It's just an angle I've never seen discussed or acknowledged. I'm not saying Nikko or Gannon have such an issue, but surely there are some playing disc golf who do. And arbitrary time limits aren't the best in my opinion. I do see the point. At some point you have a certain size field that needs to finish in a given day. I get it. But enforcing 30 seconds is really tricky and I don't think gets us where we need to go. That mentality trickles down to the rec level and it can be pretty toxic. Good luck!
@YashaKoman
@YashaKoman Жыл бұрын
Deep down I don’t think anyone is trying to force 30 seconds, it’s the 60+ seconds that they take on routine shots. As far as that disability goes…they are professional athletes and need to learn to somehow overcome them (if they have them). Can you imagine an NBA player saying he needs more time to process his jump shot and that defenders need to back off and not block his shot? Or an NFL QB asking Dlinemen not to rush him so quickly because he needs more time to process his throws. Or an MLB batter asking a pitcher to throw slower because he needs more time to process pitches? You see my point?
@jcrow62
@jcrow62 Жыл бұрын
@@YashaKoman I see your point, but it's completely different in disc golf which is why it is SO ACCESSIBLE to everyone. And I think it should stay that way. It's not changing anything about the shot, just how long it takes to prepare. I'm not saying these people are disabled, but there could be someone there that may have some type of processing issue.
