LOST IN BLUE 2 is a crafting survival game for the Nintendo DS! This was before Minecraft was a 'thing', and I remember loving it. It does a good job of using all of the DS features, like the touch screen and the microphone. I only ever played the first Lost in Blue, so hopefully the second one is even better! Expect lots of cooking minigames.

You not only beat Lost in Blue 2, but you managed to complete one of if not the hardest way off the island. You did it without the map (which isn't necessary, but helpful if your memory is crap like mine) before your calendar hit the triple-digits AND you got the golden ending where Jack proposes to Amy. All on your first try. As someone who loves this game to pieces, I'm immensely proud of you! There's still plenty to do, this game has a lot of replay value, but for now? Enjoy what you've accomplished! Congratulations, Jared. It was a great ride from start to finish. I hope my comments weren't too backseat-y.

I found your comments very interesting and they let me know the different possibilities in the game we didn’t see. Anything particularly funny or weird we didn’t see? Can you die if you never eat/drink/rest?

@@Konarcoffee Your life slowly ticks down if your energy or water hit zero, but from my personal experiences dying of starvation isn't a thing. As for funny stuff, the Gorilla actually has the radio! You get him to give it to you by either getting Amy to befriend it as Jack or befriending him yourself as Amy. You do this by copying his noises into the microphone over the course of a few days until he's close enough to give presents to. Needless to say I uh...am glad I never played this when I had my DS in public.

What actually happens if you hit 0 health, you say starvation won't kill you, but what about in combat? And what about your partner, what happens if their health hits 0? Can your partner actually die?

@@RupertAndCheese Your partner can die from thirst or exhaustion, and you take direct life damage if you get hit in combat. If you or your partner hits 0 life, you get a cutscene of whoever did first falling over dead and a game over screen. Thankfully this doesn't delete your save or anything, you can reload from the last time you saved or quicksaved and try again.

It was lovely to see another DS game LP again. If you're looking for something very interesting, I recommend 999, or nine hours, nine persons, nine doors!

Ghost Trick Feel The Magic: XX/XY FFTactics A2 (Alternatively, FFTA for GBA) Radiant Historia (though a 3DS remake with extra content exists) Zero Escape: 9 hours, 9 persons, 9 doors All of these are niche enough to be "forgotten" but loved by their fanbase to be rabid.

@@gigastrike2 I believe one of the other commenters noted in an earlier video that Amy was part of the archery club at school and is a better archer (part of the reason why Jared had such a hard time with hunting before getting feathers is that the boy is not as good at archery), and the boy was part of the rock climbing club, which is why he can climb better.

There are these awesome dective mystery games on DS called Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and its sequel Last window: The secret of hotel cape west. You shoud play those!

Decided to come and watch this after hearing Jared talk about how much he enjoyed the series. It was a fun journey of a playlist. All the more worth watching, Jared Dumbfounded right at the end of it all.

This is before I watch this, because it says finale. I've been on the whole ride, and it was good. I find that when Jared invests time and effort into playing a game not only for himself, but his viewers, it tends to be a good ride.

Proud of you for completing this one, I feel like people drop these kinds of games often. Was a fun watch and I'm looking forward to what comes next. For a DS game to check out, maybe Lunar Knights, Knights in the Nightmare (which is tactics, RTS-ish, and bullet hell all at once), or From the Abyss. All of those are fairly obscure (I think) that are really interesting and fit games I think you enjoy.

Whoa! What a ride! Thank you for seeing this one through to the end. It was clear you were having a lot of fun playing this, and from the comments I saw, almost everyone that stuck around enjoyed it as much as I did. Absolutely a gem of a game (and new to me!), and it's really fun seeing DS titles in this format (you're right, it's pretty rare). Kudos both to you for trying to keep your setup conducive to seeing what we need to see as viewers, and to Vlad for making helpful edits to stitch the experience together and add extra pizzazz. The chemistry was just there for this LP all around. Everything clicked and it was magnificent. Well done, looking forward to the next 'main' series!

After having watched this playthrough, I was constantly reminded of another island survival game that also came out in 2007 called "Stranded II". It's an old PC survival game that has a somewhat similar story to Lost in Blue in which a person gets stranded and needs to find a way back home. The main adventure mode of the game is relatively short and straightforward enough that it would make for a great playthrough to watch you play! See it as a 3D survival game that came out before Minecraft. I personally grew up with the game, and I wish it got more attention and playthroughs on youtube than it currently has!

This was a very fun series, thanks for sharing this game with us. I'm sure you wouldn't want to jump right back in, but I hope you'll keep this game in mind as a potential revisit to go through the girl's story and maybe see some of the other things the island has to offer!

From the first episode that aired shortly after my cat had to be euthed from cancer at 22 yrs of age to the time we where so snowed in there was no way to leave the house. To the domestic drama involve banning pets across the US and fighting for our rights to preserve species to simple days like today where you just feel spring in the air and that things are going to get better and everything will be OK. to finally feel a little peace after all thats gone on the last month and a half... honestly this lets play helped me cope with a LOT of stress I've had going on, once again another great lets play Jared.. I don't care what anyone says about you, you really do bring character, personal spotlight and devotion to your gameplays and make it all around a enjoyable experience for everyone, thank you.. really. And wonderful ending

Don't know how well it holds up, but I remember having a lot of fun with Lost Magic for the DS. One of the first games I felt used the touch screen quite well. But yeah, really enjoyed this series, thanks Jared!

Hey Jared, I found your channel looking this game up. I thought this game was so difficult! I only got to day 12 and after a game crash I bottlenecked in a death loop. Couldn't bring myself to start all over. Your playthrough was so much fun to watch and I loved being able to finally experience the game with your funny personality :)

If you wanna play an obscure DS/3DS game that not a whole lot of people know about. I would highly recommend playing a game from the Etrian Odyssey series. The ones released on 3DS stand the test of time quite a bit better so I'd recommend one of those. It would make me incredibly happy to see a big lets player like you play through one of them as they are my all time favorite games. Regardless however, I love your videos, and it's always a good time to sit down and watch you game; keep up the good work. :D

The cool part about this ending is no matter who you play as, it utilizes your PARTNERS skill. You need the bow/torch to utilize Amy's archery club skills, but if you are playing as her you need a bunch of rope to utilize Jacks rock climbing club skills.

What a playthrough! I was honestly not super taken when you first started playing the game - I've never been a big fan of crafting and survival games. I stuck with it, and having you sort of narrate the thought process and strategy was really fun and kept me coming back. For other DS games, I've got a strong nostalgia for FFTactics A2 as a game I just naturally 100% when I first played it. I've also loved the FF remakes, the Dragon Quest releases, and the Layton games, but can't imagine a puzzle game or a super long RPG would make for a good let's play.

It's a shame to see this series actually end, I was kinda hoping it would go on for a while longer but it's still good to see you beat it and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next. As for other DS games you can play there is 1 that immediately springs to mind as a fantastic Square Enix JRPG that I still consider to be the game that uses all the DS's features the best The World Ends With You!

After being next to useless for all this time, Amy was the one to get them out of there. XD But for real, I enjoyed this playthrough immensely, the editing was great and you always make these kind of more laid back games very enjoyable to watch. It was nice to be lost in blue with you all!

One game that's an absolute blast to play through is 999, it's a pretty heavy hitting visual novel that makes very good use of the DS. I has a re-release on other platforms, but it plays the best on the original hardware for big payoffs later in the game.
