I love how because of her fear of lightning, the first few times Rikku gets hit by a lightning spell she lets out a loud visceral scream instead of her normal damage audio, just further reinforcing her fear of lightning.

My father was a DIE HARD Final fantasy fan. I remember being like 5 or 6 and just being in awe listening to him talk about it. "Final fantasy 7 is the greatest game ever! Nothing competes!". I picked up FFX when I was about 10 and proceeded to play it for over 100 hours. A Year or so later when I was about 11, the world of Vana d'iel and FFXI came out. I remember my dad racing to EBgames(GameStop for you youngsters) and immediately buying the game and the hard drive you had to screw into the PS2 to play online. Once that happened, we were off, lvling joining guilds, we had the same account so we couldn't play together, but I remember hours upon hours of us just bouncing ideas off one another and just talking about how much we both were loving the game. We played for over 5 years until one day my dad decided he was done, but I kept playing, we grew apart around that time and I moved in with my mom all the while still playing. I would still bring it up to him here and there and his eyes would light up. He returned once more to the game for about 6 months but after that he quit for good. When I was 22 my father passed away, it was out of nowhere and unexpected as hell. My dad was an unga bunga Warrior main in FFXI, he loved the idea of a giant great axe. I play FFXIV, and regardless of what job I'm playing in each expansion, I always level my Warrior to max lvl, it's my way of keeping my father with me. I love you Dad, rest easy and know I'm cracking skulls with a great axe and meeting all kinds of friends along the way, just like you showed me pop!

Will forever be my favorite game of all times 22 years have passed by and nothing that came before or after made me feel anything near the rollercoaster of emotions i felt when i played FFX for the first time it got to the point where i have only replayed it a handful of times despite me replaying games constantly because i realized i don't need to i can replay the game whenever i want everything from the music of each moment of each scene to the tone the voice actors were using in X i can remember it and relive it by just thinking about it I REALLY LOVE THIS GAME!

It took a very long time for me to realize Tidus wasnt actually transported to the future. Ive beaten the game multiple times and I know they outright say it but in my mind i thought Dream Zanarkand was being created the moment Tidus landed "in the future"

I love, love, LOVE the fayth statue/painting(?) that is used for each separate summon. Those are so damn cool! I’m referring to the things on the floor that incorporates parts of the person who became the fayth and parts of the summon they would come to represent. I’m really happy that summons, as a class of being, are becoming more and more integral to the actual story, rather than just flashy magic attacks like how they began. I think 6 was the first to do this? I could be wrong lol

After watching others play FFX since its release on PC I've grown to appreciate it far more than in my own playthroughs. It's a work with a stellar understanding of its own themes and so thoroughly builds the whole world and its characters around them in a way that I've rarely seen accomplished outside of it and FFXIV. Greatly enjoyed the video, the fluid structure - outside of simply being nice to listen to - I think it better expresses that interconnectedness FFX did so well.

I STILL get chills and the feels when Yuna performs the Sending in Kilika after Sin attacks. That shit is just 👌👌👌

Love the seamless transitions through each of the points in the video. I think it’s something that can be easily overlooked if you’re not paying attention to it, but demonstrates a very good understand of the material being covered. Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next video

man this was a smooth video, i watched it and thought "man #1 is pretty long..." look at the bottom right "oh dang, it's already #6" you don't even notic it because it's so smooth and most # weave into each other so well.

While some games make lore towards political intrigue or the story of the world, FFX makes something special because is deep lore focused on characters, their stories and their actions, that's what makes this game so unique

So do we know what fayth and aeon were at the Baaj temple before it was destroyed and before Seymour brought his mom's fayth? Great video as always, very smooth transitions.

FFX has some of my all time favorite FF Lore.

FFX is my forever favorite FF game and i would gladly replay it over and over.

It's a little high paced and disjointed, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I could do another. VIII would be good.

When I first played FFX on my PS2 back in the day, I was so freaking impressed by everything it offered. Then I gave up around getting Rikku in the party because the Sphere Grid made me so mad as a kid. Now I wish I could replay it, not the Remastered versions, the OG. I still have my PS2 Copy, but no PS2.

20 years ago I thought the FMVs of FFX were as good as 3D graphics could EVER look. 20 years later, even cell phone games can make those FMVs look primitive. But what HASN'T changed is that FFX is a damn good RPG. Blitzball, summons that you can control, an amazing story, flashy ultimate moves for every character (even the temporary guest character!), deep "post final boss" content... the list of good things just go on and on.

FFX is one of those games that didn't have to go this hard with it's lore & world building. But it did, and I love it!

These videos are good, as when you are playing the games, not only is it easier to forget the collections of little pieces of information as they come to you in sometimes forgettable and sometimes missable segments, but you often learn the information as you are in the middle of another task. Making these compilations help contextualize everything.

the biggest secret and mystery on FF X is Did Tidus and his family (his Mom and Dad) is based on real zanarkand person or not......??! And if someone want X-3, I suggest based on Zanarkand ancient war with Bevelle 1000 years ago, not about Braska Journey because X already tell his story. Story about zanarkand peoples on that time like Yunalesca and his father Yu Yevon and his motivation to become SIN absolutly intriguing me.

I always assumed that Yojimbo was the original Fayth of Baaj Temple before it was stolen and taken to the Cavern. It obviously had to have come from somewhere and the fuu dog statues at Baaj invoke the imagery of Yojimbo's dog. With the Fayth gone, it allowed Seymour to stick Anima's Fayth there.

my first FF game was FFVII. and as mush as I love the antagonist of that series, Sephiroth, and the lore behind FFVII, specifically Crisis Core; There's no denying that FFX was the best story hands down! of the series and the lore especially.

FFX was the best FF, and given the route the franchise is taking, it will go down as the best FF of all time.

I think I never saw a game as alive as this. on every corner there is history to find spanning back 100s of years which all are clearly still seen in the culture presented now and woven into the story line. it really feels like they created the world first and then included the story afterwards.

One thing I've always wondered about FFX - when Braska and Jecht die for the final summoning, do they die then and there in Zanarkand, or did Yunalesca turn Jecht into an aeon, then Auron and Braska walked back to the calm lands to fight sin? Also, is every iteration of Sin the same. In FFX it is a big massive whale thing, but previous versions could've possibly been different

Fun fact when i first saw Seymour i actually thought the dude had a beer belly. Even now i still cant unsee it that red part of his outfit hanging loose just gives the idea of a fatter Seymour.

Fantastic video! The deep-seeded lore is probably one of the reasons I liked FFX, in spite of its numerous flaws. Same goes with FFXI where they spent something like 3 years developing the world and history before even writing for it. I'd love to see a lore video covering all of that.
