The two of you are our heroes!! We’ve been watching since the red trailer days 😂. Love the detailed walk thru and there are several things I had forgotten that you have done with your tiny home. You two are living the life that we soon want to be living as well! COE campgrounds offer more space between campers at a very affordable price and we would never had known it if not for your channel, thank you!

If I had the money.... I'd buy me 50 acres along a river or lake and start putting up sites for campers and then I'd build out several of these cargo trailers and rent them out on airbnb.. the trailers would be nicer than building permanent structures as cabins because if you wanted to downsize or just go back to renting sites you could easily return the ground back to grass..

I love the build thanks for the tour of your beautiful home. My wife and I are just starting out. We moved into our trailer mid June of this year working on everything as we go. This month i finally finished insulation in the walls and ceiling. Next month, I get to start wiring everything and install the shower so I can start on plumbing the following month. I liked the honesty that when yall moved in you were using a bucket for a toilet because that's been the extent of our bathroom so far.

Bill & Deb Cannot believe after the problem you had with getting your Mini Split motor you STILL don't have a SURGE PROTECTOR. I didn’t see one hooked up on your walk around. Your taking a big risk on frying all your electrical without one. I have two friends that wished they had had them hooked up to their rig when one hooked up to a bad power box & the other lighting hook his out. I pray this never happens to you. Good luck & nice job on your rig!

Those traditional campers and rvs are lightweight because they're cheaply built with the cheapest materials possible. Within a few years it will be falling apart. I'm friends with a husband and wife who spent 80k plus on a giant 5th wheel with all the bells and whistles.. things started breaking within months of it being used after towing it less 70 miles to its location at a campground where it stayed until year number 2 when they had a recall on something and had developed several leaks along with numerous high dollar parts and pieces breaking. There was so much wrong with the roof and everything that the dealer chose to give them a left over from the previous year that was unbought for the one they had bought. And 2 years later it was a giant pile of garbage. They had been going from northwest Illinois to Wisconsin several times a year with the 2nd new one. After they made them make it right they sold it to someone who knew all the issues and they sold their house here, relocating to a lake in Wisconsin that they absolutely love

You 2 are what got me started thinking about what the wife and I are going to do when we retire and the kids are raised.. I'm going to be buying me a larger peace of property come spring. Plan is to first build me a several acre pond and stock it with fish.. I'm then going to buy a classic sailboat and put in the pond and live on the boat until I can build us a cabin. After the cabin is done I plan on leaving the boat in the pond and it can be a home for any visitors or perhaps rent it out on airbnb..

8.5' x 20' trailer with an extended tongue and a tongue weight of 1200lbs. What manufacturer is the trailer? I'm doing research prior to doing my own cargo trailer conversion. Also what weight distribution hitch do you use? I am really impressed with your build. All the Best, Dave B.
@billanddeb
@billanddeb 10 ай бұрын
The trailer is manufactured by Rock Solid Cargo Trailers in Douglas, Georgia. You have to purchase the trailer through a broker. We used Renown Cargo Trailer Sales in Douglas, Georgia. The load leveling hitch is by Curt. It's rated up to 1400 pounds tongue weight. We purchased it through Etrailer.com.

Great tour! Is it necessary to have a macerator pump, since you're not pumping any solids from your tank?
@billanddeb
@billanddeb 11 ай бұрын
We used a standard pump before. We went to the macerator pump because you can buy them all day long for under $100, and the pump around 9 gallons per minute. Even though there are no "solids," you still get a buildup of hair and stuff (we noticed hair accumulated on the impeller, shortening its life). At least the blades are able to chop that up somewhat.

@billanddeb
@billanddeb 11 ай бұрын
We have around 27K invested in the trailer. This includes the original cost of the trailer. We actually looked at a Surveyor before we decided to build again. We came really close to making a deal until I tapped on the hollow, flexing walls and then stepped into the shower only to hear the popping and cracking sounds. Then we considered the limited capacity of the holding tanks. Any meaningful solar would need to be added by us. Also included in our 27K investment is the ability to literally park out in a field, totally unplugged, have air conditioning (or heat) take a shower, etc for extended periods of time (we are also total electric). We understand there are those who lack the knowledge to build one themselves. Even though we both have a background in the construction industry, we still spent hours in research before we ever began. When looking at the Surveyor, we confided in the salesperson and told him we intended to live and travel in it full time. To our surprise he said "honestly, these are built to only be taken out 4 or 5 times a season, with the occasional 2 week vacation, then stored away till the following season."

You guys are amazing. I've been watching your show for years, and I'm currently in the process of completing my trailer conversion. Before my trailer is completed, I would like to have a suitable tow vehicle, I would like for that vehicle to be very off-road capable & somewhat easy to maintain on my own. I love the Hummer H2 I've always wanted one and I've spent the past few weeks doing research on the 4L tran as well as the 6.0Ls motor. I'm not exactly sure at the moment as I'm unsure what chassis your vehicle is built on but it appear that you are successfully towing your rig with a Hummer H2 first gen. I was looking into the much more expensive second gen as most of the videos that I've seen said that the transmission and engine how much more reliable
@billanddeb
