I vote for keeping it open as your office, especially since you don’t need extra pantry space. How nice it is that you can be doing work in your office but still be connected to what’s going on in kitchen/ family room.

I think your kitchen layout is perfect. The hidden office/overflow room is awesome. I absolutely love the placement. And the door next to the office helps add to the feel of flow with the rest of the house while the wall still gives the kitchen it’s own space.

So happy to hear you get bored and change things out a lot. Most of my friends think I’m unusual for moving things and having new ideas. Just decided to take doors off one kitchen cabinet and I’m in love with the French look to soften the cold modern look so in now.

We tried blocking it off and not using it before the renovation and were so relieved when we opened the traffic flow back up!

I'm in love with this kitchen. 🤍 I really love the layout, taking out the uppers and simply having a floor to ceiling appliance/pantry wall is the best design/layout I've ever seen for a kitchen. Your colors really sell me on the look. I like a hidden refrigerator look, which you opted out of, but your it matches the oven/sink so it works as an accent color.

Do the walk-in pantry! It's a hot re-sale feature & also provides space for those that want an extra deep freezer for large cuts of meat or turkeys etc. Love your design aesthetic! Also, you really look beautiful in all your blouses!

I love your kitchen, Valentina! Also, I personally like the multiple entry points... they allow more light and energy to flow through the space. The larger pantry might be nice for storage, but I think you’d miss the light and accessibility.

LOVE your kitchen! Love those salt n pepper shakers your daughter made you ❤️ I also would’ve kept it open to the office and living room...just organized my fridge and it looks amazing!!! Organizing videos in your space would be great since you are so organized. While I share your love of walk-in pantries, I definitely would NOT have put one in your space. Not only would you lose the sight line to your son's homework progress, you'd lose all the light coming from that side. Light wins every time.

Valentina, I loved this video about your kitchen. I am from Europe , so a bit bias, but I totally understand your passions for some of the charming things we have there. Great design mixing old (sometimes real old) and modern, gorgeous elements. I am in Europe and I am inspired by your kitchen!!! I want it so bad. I am remodelling my apartment which is under the roof of the house and 2 walls are slanted and it's footprint is a weird shape too. Not much space for upper cabinets. There is a big chimney in the middle of it from the fireplace in the apartment below (which is kinda cool). It's giving me nightmares but I am sooo inspired to make it the most beautiful room in the house still, because of you :D

I SO completely understand!! It was such a drag seeing so many cool designs that were squared off and simple but in the end I kept at it and ended up with something that even a year later still takes my breath away!

Love your kitchen! I think if you had done a closed in wall for your dream pantry, it would have ruined your style and flow. I think closed pantrys are awsome for those that have large families with a space to easily accommodate excessive amounts of stuff to store. I think minimal is much more efficient in today's busy lifestyles. I definitely think your design is gorgeously done! The beauty the natural light offers to your gorgeous view of your staircase is priceless. Love your office placement and dual functionality! Open concept has to much commotion and no cozy areas to enjoy. I think it would make decorating harder to find a style to live with when you enjoy changing it often. But I'm not a professional designer ;) that being said, your home is amazing and I can't wait until your able to offer us design advice, I appreciate you mentioning in others comments. I just found your channel a month ago and love it so much, I've been watching all your videos. 💗

Closed it up and have the walk-in pantry . However, the door to the pantry should be transparent so you're able to see in. That would be so amazing. It's a dream of mine...hehe

Just came across this kitchen tour video. Sign and wow!! The space is spectacular and cozy at the same time. A walk-in pantry would have been my choice, but that's only because I prep for cooking or baking on my island and it wouldn't be annoying not to have everything at my fingertips. I also like the kitchen being tucked away where you don't see it as soon as you walk in the door. In So.Flo the craze is walk in the front door and see through to the pool and backyard, but I've never been convinced with that idea. At the same time, I can't get people out of my kitchen and into the living spaces that are plenty roomy. Don't know what to do about that short of roping off the kitchen - which I did during Covid - but didn't really work very well. Ideas welcome. Thanks all!

I bought a couple of those cane baskets in your cupboard the other month. So they didn’t scratch up the surface I cut an 1/8th thick felt pad, sewed a cover for it and added some ties to it. It was tied on to the underside of the basket and works brilliantly. I also made up some inner liners in a fancy fabric in the same way to eliminate the possibility of scratching the backs of my hands. Mine are in the lounge.

Omg. We live in an 1890's farmhouse in UPNY and although I do not prefer modern, I just love your kitchen and your space. I tend to be eclectic so, I suppose that makes sense. Have been here since 2009, totally had to gut the home and bring it back to life but have NOT done the kitchen yet....ran out of $$$ and my husband brought back the "cheaper than Walmart cabinets" that were here from the previous owners...i STILL cringe. Love that you kept your office the way you did....it all looks so amazing!!! Makea me want to gather myself up and figure it all out! Thank you so much for your inspiration!!!

Gorgeous kitchen. I love your wall of cabinets. I’ve been wanting to do the same but I too have a kitchen with lots of weird angles and haven’t been able to figure out how to fit it in 🤨
