Helpful review! It sounds like Levels or NutriSense are much more in-depth and informative than the Lumen. I know they do things differently, yet my understanding is the CGM will give you a real-time score on your glucose while the Lumen will only tell you what you are burning at that time which can come much later. Why did you settle on Levels over NutriSense?

Thank you so much and your description is spot on! The only reason I picked Levels is because they offered to send the product over for a honest review (they did not control the video in any way and no money exchanged hands). I imagine NutriSense has a great product as well but I have not tested that one yet. But I absolutely love how Levels shows you what is actually happening inside your body and lets you make more informed decisions that can stick with you the rest of your life. Whatever product you decide to go with, I hope you love it!

Hey Travis, I've seen both your lumen&levels review, and im still stuck. (Great reviews, by the way) Modern medicine in cardiology and metabolism have failed me. I'm a 76 y/o PRE-type 2 diabetic following their nutritional advice for 7 years and I'm not well. My glucose, lipids and A1C are all within normal range, MASKED by the Ozempic &Praluent I'm taking. I say that, that way because i saw my 1st fasting insulin test taken in 10 years recently. It was 5 times the normal upper limit. My HOMA I/R was 10.8 with a normal value=

Hello and sorry for taking a couple of days to reply! Based on everything you have said, I would go with a CGM solution. Lumen is great for basic data and a lot of learning tools. Since you are more in the numbers and wanting to see specifics, a CGM is going to be much more inline with what you have been doing and hopefully help you learn, and move towards the state you are seeking. These numbers are directly tied to blood glucose levels where Lumen is a different calculation not as directly tied to what you are looking at. I hope this helps and best of luck reaching the results you are looking for!

Travis, excellent video! I'm curious what the costs are associated with getting the setup and the ongoing costs as I'm sure you have to buy additional pieces for your arm. Also have you done your video on the climber? They keep seeming to have great sales on the first version and they've now come out with a second version. Saw you using it in this video and wondered if I had missed that content. Again love the content and keep up the Great work!

Thank you Rich! I do want to make a video talking about the cost and best ways to make it work. I know it can be expensive but I think depending on how you do it you can make it easier to manage. CLMBR will probably be my next video. You have not missed it! Really enjoying trying some different products to review and making the reviews! Have a good one Rich!

Liked and subscribed. On the Freestyle Libre 2 app the Last 24 Hours and Daily Graph provides a general glucose curve but not detailed enough to tell time frames and actual glucose values. And since you asked for questions concenrnig LEVELS - 1. Can you set your own glucose target range? 2. For meals/exercise can you tell how long your glucose was raised above the starting value? 3. Can you view your glucose curve for1 hr., 2 hrs., or 3 hrs. ? And for the times of your choosing? 4. On the glucose curves, is there a way to scrub across the line to see what the time and glucose reading is applicable that moment? Your time and effort to make these videos are much appreciated.

Welcome and thank you for the questions! I will answer what I can but also same them for future videos. 1 - I looked around and don't see this. I don't know if they currently focus on being in and out of range as much understanding what food and exercise do to your glucose levels. 2 - Yes - It is very important you log your meals\exercise accurately but if so, yes. For example, I had a bad meal a few days ago and it tells me that my spike was 56mg/dl and the spike lasted for 75 minutes. 3 - It shows you a daily chart with activity breakdowns for that day. You can select any point in time and see what your measurement was for that time. You can also select any meal\exercise logged and see a chart focusing on that time period. 4 - Yes, I can scrub across by the minute and see the reading for that exact moment. Hope that helps!

Travis- Did I read that right? Is it $199 every 14 days and another $199 for the Annual subscription that you only pay once a year and cancel anytime? I would love to see a price video as well. At the end of the day, if you can afford it, you'll save that on doctor visits, co-pays, and medications by taking care of yourself.

You are mostly correct but I believe the product lasts a month (Each shipment comes with two sensors so you are covered for a month). I will verify things and make a costs video (Something I wanted to do). But I completely agree with you. While expensive, this helps you learn how to be healthier for the rest of your life. You know what works for you and want hurts you. You save money from those items you mentioned. And, personally, I am completely okay with an up front cost if it is going to make me feel healthier and more energetic for the rest of my life because I now know what works for my body and well-being.

Thank you for this review. I just watched both reviews you did. The Lumen and this one. Now I have a question: Which is worth investing your money in? Lumen or Levels?
@Learnwithtravis
@Learnwithtravis Жыл бұрын
Both can be great options to help you reach your health goals, but specific to your question, I would say Levels. The data is more specific, real-time, and actionable. Reducing glucose spikes, duration, average, and other factors is likely a huge need for most people (not all). So for me, if I want the highest return on my investment, I will say Levels. Hope that helps!

I know you said the sensor doesn’t hurt (I’m scared but I will trust you on this), but does the sensor that goes under the skin stay attached to the patch, and it gets pulled out when you take off the patch after two weeks? Thanks for the video! My medical provider won’t let me get a monitor since I’m not diabetic, but my co-worker has one (also not diabetic) and it has made a tremendous difference in how he eats and he’s lost a lot of weight.
@Learnwithtravis
@Learnwithtravis Жыл бұрын
I know it seems like it would hurt but I have done many now and never had an issue. I don’t even blink when I put them on now because I know it will be painless. The sensor is attached to the sensor. Sort of like a thick hair so it is flexible and short. When you pull off the sensor it comes right with it. No big deal. Only pain is from the tape pulling off your skin. I am wearing one right now, still absolutely love it, and get so much great info from it. Hope it works out well if you decide to try it!

ThanksTravis. I want to get a CGM but I was dismissed on that front by my doc. I was wondering have you reviewed the Sunny fitness Pro II SF-B1995. I have a chance to get a second hand one and I am wondering if it is a good deal and if I can modify pedals, etc.
@Learnwithtravis
@Learnwithtravis Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I am very surprised any doctor would turn anyone away from a CGM and managing blood glucose levels better. I have not tested that model but overall Sunny has been a solid brand and replacing the pedals should be very easy.

Hello, after looking over the website it states the devices that are compatible with the libre program. For instance the Abbott libre. If I can get this device through my insurance how difficult do you think it would be to set up libre with this device? I’m trying to save cost. I’m ready to pay for the app services for the year just wanted to save money by getting the device through my insurance

do you prefer levels or nutrisense? which is better?
@Learnwithtravis
@Learnwithtravis Жыл бұрын
I have not used Nutrisense yet so I cannot fully answer, but I think they are very comparable options. I will try to get my hands on Nutrisense to compare down the road as I would love to be able to answer this more accurately. I can tell you I love Levels. I love data and realtime information and I get that. The meal logging, exercise logging, reports, suggestions, learning, scores, and more have been super helpful. I imagine Nutrisense has a lot of that as well and maybe other items as well, but I have only positive things to say about Levels.

@Learnwithtravis

Not at all. This is for anyone that wants to learn how their body responds to diet and exercise. Their are a lot of factors that influence how our bodies respond to these and Levels helps you understand what works for you. From there, you can make changes and continue to learn what is best for you going forward.

Cost?
@Learnwithtravis
@Learnwithtravis Жыл бұрын
The subscription is 200 for a year which I know sounds like large but with how much you can learn between the results and the knowledge sharing in the app, I really feel the price is more than justified. Where it can get pricey is you also have to buy the sensors which I think is 200 for a month. What I recommend here is not buying every month. Do a month, learn from the results, make the changes you want to make for a couple months and when ready, do another month to check in and fine tune. You do not need these monthly. The app still has tons of learning and improvement opportunities when not using the sensors. But I do realize, it is a pricey option.

All your videos show you exercising. You realize that these products are marketed to overweight people who most likely aren’t fit, not exercise regularly. They want to lose weight. Good video and informative but please make videos for real people who want to buy these products. I’m older and I have a very slow metabolism. I’m trying to find tools to help me get healthy. I imagine you are missing out of a large amount of views from average people. I noticed the hashtags weightloss and similar tags. So you’re obviously trying to reach overweight people. Please make videos that address average real people trying to eat healthier. Thank you
@Learnwithtravis
@Learnwithtravis 10 ай бұрын
I am not firing back, but trying to learn and understand what you are recommending. Personally, I believe diet and exercise go hand in hand if you want to see healthy results. Can you lose weight via diet only, sure. But if you take what Levels teaches, it shows how various things impact blood glucose (food structure, portions, carb type, exercise, light exercise after higher carb meal, and more). So, to represent the product, I am showing the things it helps you improve upon (diet and exercise). And if you are overweight and want to change that while improving your health, combining Levels, what you learn from it including diet and exercise, you can reach those goals. I guess I am trying to understand what you are recommending? Not including exercise in my videos? I feel that would be misleading viewers because I do that. Also, if you are heavily overweight and want to change that, I think your mindset needs to include exercise. That could be as simple as light walks every day, but you need to include the benefits of at least some movement. Again, hope this did not come off as not appreciating your comment. Just trying to understand your thought process. :)
