Finally, an Indiana Jones Watch?!? (My picks for what might've been)

I have been a huge fan of Indiana Jones ever since the summer of 1981 when the original, 'Raiders of the Lost Ark’ debuted…It never went unnoticed by me that for some strange reason, Indy never wore a watch in any of the films.
Well, 43 years (and a fifth film later) Indy finally gets a watch, although it appears to have been an afterthought of sorts!
In this video we will discuss my thoughts on the state of the Indiana Jones franchise and perhaps more importantly a look at the Non-watches or watches that should've been utilized in the Indiana Jones series of films.

Cool concept for a video & a great ‘watch’. My two-cents for Indy’s watch: some version of a Hamilton Khaki field mechanical or a Timex Marlin. I’m just waiting for the IJ series to come out on Netflix!

Indiana Jones is set in the year 1936. So I’d pick a Rolex Oyster for his character. Idk how you don’t have more subscribers. You should be bigger. Keep up the videos. Just discovered your channel.

I respectfully disagree. "Indiana Jones" is a College Professor first, and an Archeologist / Adventurer second. So while the Orient is a great choice, I feel like it should have a Cream colored dial instead of a white dial. Most Teachers / Adventurers are very conservative , and do not want some thing that sticks out too much. The Blancpain is beautiful , but only Governments and Very Rich People could afford it when it came out . And it does stick out way too much ! Beautiful ... Also, when he is in Adventurer mode, he would destroy every known watch ! Maybe that is why the character never wore a watch . I like YOUR Video !

Minor Correction: You SHOULD blame Phoebe Waller-Bridge (aka franchise killer) as she helped write that horrible movie (as well as the last James Bond, where the main character was an old embittered man... hmmm ... am I sensing a pattern?) Regarding watches: Didn't Orient start selling watches after WW2? If we're looking at the products avail in the late 30's to pair up with the first few movies, Hamilton's field watch is a good choice as (if memory serves) it was military issue from the first world war. Simple, rugged and matching the whole aesthetic of Indy.

@@nobetagear by the way, great idea for a discussion. I wish I was better versed in watches of that era. For instance, I am aware that German watches of that vintage had crazy high levels of radium. It would be interesting to have someone more knowledgeable than I to discuss the various options for Indy given he started with an American revolver in the first movie and then moved to a British one. Would that impact his watch choice after raiders? Perhaps he grabbed a German watch before he jumped in the zeppelin. Appreciate the thought discussion.

There are so many more adventures within the Indiana Jones universe that are possible, and I truly don't believe that we've seen the last of Indy.... Will continue to explore more cool watches that might align a bit better. Thanks again!

We’re definitely not accusing this brand/model of being historically accurate in this scenario, however the Bambino SS’s styling and movement are a good fit (not too far fetched) for the 1930’s IMO. Thanks for tuning in!
