I hate going to the hairdresser too. I just am an anxious introvert like yourself. i don't dye. my hair and i get it cut like 2 times a year.... lol when i go, i just sit there quietly like a weirdo. Also, you did a great job on your hair! it looks great ❤️

Jennifer I have to agree I don't like going to.the hairdresser either I don't have the healthiest hair and I don't go to the hairdresser as often as I shud I don't dye my hair so the awkward silence I just don't know wat to say im a shy person 2019 i decided to go to the hairdresser very nervous very anxious but i knew it was time to go and i did it i had very frizzy long dry hair that needed to go i cut all my hair off short like a boy and i cried for two weeks after that no jokes I get wat u and Alexa were saying I feel.the exact same way when I did go to the hairdresser in 2019 I had gone with my son I was scared that if I didn't then I would have chickened out and a couple of times before that like in 2018 and 2017 I had asked my husband to come with me they were only trims

I feel like we have the same natural hair color and experience; it is like a very dirty blond but as a kid and into high school i had full blond ass hair (not platinum, but very blond compared to the dirty blond now). And I've been through a similar process! Dyed my hair dark chocolate brown, didn't like it, asked the salon to dye my hair my root color and it was a darker dirty blond! I was super unhappy with it and it lead to this small existential crisis about me not knowing what my natural hair color was. Like pictures said my natural hair has always been blond blond but my roots are growing in dark dirty blond, wtf?!? Eventually i have come to love my darker dirty blond hair bc it still fits with my face and features, but i WHOLEHEARTEDLY relate to just feeling like myself with more bright blond hair. I think the bright blond looks beautiful on you and i love that you're filming this hair journey and explaining your feelings!! Love love love

I've heard you're supposed to ensure the foil is flat, not scrunched so your hair will be bleached evenly and not spotty. I've never dyed my hair but that's what I've heard.

omg i have very similar natural hair to you, and i love being blonde. my hairdresser is the best, and i got once every 4-6 months. whenever i go to her, i say make me as blonde as possible, without needing touchups all the time. and she does these blonde baby lights, they are perfect!!! definitely recommend if you ever go back to the salon once it is safe!!

Purple shampoo is essentially a clarifying shampoo, which means it will actually strip out the toner faster than it will help you! It stripes any impurities on the hair in order to deposit that purple tint-in hand getting out those yellow tones. Wait until you’re feeling really brassy to use it again to get the best longevity of your toner ☺️ it looks great! 💕

Looks amazing Alexa! It always does, but totally understandable to do what you LOVE to your hair- a woman's mane is her crown, and she always wants it to sparkle like one! This vid is SO RELATABLE- from the feelings of being at the hair dresser, communicating with them, trying to fill awkward silence, to the steps getting to where you're comfortable. My hair dresser passed away from cancer at a very young age a few years ago 😭 so I haven't done much in terms of getting it color treated. Been to a few places for some highlights, only a couple of times since. I do micro trims on my own hair (growing it long) so I'm fortunate I don't have to worry about haircuts. With the covid thing going on, I'm literally refusing to have fabric strapped to my face while wet chemicals and water etc are in the vicinity, ya know? So nature is taking its course with my hair color, and doing a great job! My natural hair is blending in perfectly with my grown out highlights. My first name is Fawn, and I literally have FAWN COLORED HAIR!!! It's medium brown (slightly reddish), with small WHITE spots on the top, and a copper tail at the nape... LMAO!!! Because I have a recessive red hair gene (I'm part irish) we don't go gray- we go white! This white hair looks very light blonde/platinum-ish. Getting a touch older has proven to be a blessing! Your vid is also so relatable regarding the COST of going to out to a salon- my wallet and bank account are definitely enjoying the break now that I'm taking a break to enjoy my "free highlights" LOL!!! Awesome job girl! 😊❤👍

Making changes as a response to trauma is VERY normal and very valid.it’s a part of moving on from the experience. Just because it’s a trauma response doesn’t also mean it isn’t something you wanted or something valuable. After I left my abusive ex I got a tattoo, like designed it and got it the day after, and it’s still to this day one of my favourite tattoos. I understand the need to explain why, but it’s totally valid and understandable !! So long as you are happy and comfortable, that’s perfect!

Girl the intro was so relatable! I’ve bleached/highlighted my hair for years and I go through phases of getting tired of the maintenance/awkward hair appointments/cost and decide ill be cool and go back to my natural colour. This video speaks to my soul! I have “mousy” blonde hair naturally. I’ve been bleaching my own hair since I was 9 years old, I’ve been every single color (natural and otherwise), and artificially back to my natural dark mousy blonde. Light blonde is home for me. Every time I’ve gone to my natural color, I feel like I’m in a stranger’s body. I recently dyed my hair my natural color in an effort to grow my hair out, and I regret it. Im literally about to go to target tomorrow to get a highlighting kit because I feel so unlike myself! Oh, I also just got a black cat! Her name is Wednesday :)

im 100% asian with black hair but ive never liked my black hair. so when i had the opportunity and luxury of getting it bleached i never want to go back. its been 4 years now that ive been having my hair bleached and its soo fried 😅😂 but i still love my light hair. i might have to just snip a couple inch

I get my hair bleached platinum blond and have been loving it. I found a mousse like product by Living Proof (it’s purple) that really helps to make it a cooler look.
