Finally! Double Tap To Lock The Screen On Pixel / Huawei / Xiaomi...

How to double tap on home screen to turn it off and lock it on your Pixel, Huawei, Xiaomi device or every android device which doesn't support that feature. Use simple app called "Screen off - Widget & tile" to lock your screen with double tap gesture and your stock launcher.

That's really helpful, thanks. I've been using my Pixel 6 inside a cover since I bought it. Recently I decided to buy a case and screen protector. This now means that all kinds of rubbish opens when my phone is in my pocket until the screen lock comes in. This method is so simple but effective and I would never have worked it out for myself.

I have the google pixel 6a and unfortunatelly the "Screen off widget and tile" is not available anymore, at least for me. This is a good alternative "TapTap Lock: Double-tap to loc". Thank you for this video and thank's to Google that has this bad lack on his own launcher, i hope that in future updates this will be implemented as it is on a lot of devices!

Thank you for sharing! I have pixel 7 pro for a week now. Scouring the playstore finding ways to add double tap to on/off screen. This one is more convenient that the one I have, which you need to go first to quick settings and tap added third party tile to screen off. Thank you 🙏

Thank you so much finally I can lock my Huawei phone without using the power button or installing complicated apps that need complicated administrator privilages and permissions. Now I will never have to use power button other then turning the device on and off or restarting. Not a fan of Samsung phones, but the double taping for lock and unlock is one thing they best all phones at.

Yeah for sure. I switched from the OnePlus 7 pro to the Google pixel 6 pro and the lack of the double tap feature to lock the screen was irritating. I miss the ring, vibrate, silent toggle switch super convenient but the shh gesture is nice.

There is a way to allow permissions when you are in settings apps and find that one tap on 3 dots on upper right corner and allow permissions.

It should get administrative permissions just to lock the screen. But the app itself is not the problem because google make that impossible.

Hi Am using pixel 6a and figures out a way to lock fone with double tap on back of phone. Simply download screen off app and put that as shortcut to open under gestures>app to open That's it

App is just to turn off the screen. Turn on with double tap should be in your phone settings menu.

It needs admin access android 13 made this. You can enable that by going in the settings apps find it and tap on 3 dots upper right corner.

Hmmm…i can’t add a google account to my Huawei P40 Pro, it says: “Can’t reach Google servers. Try later”…I deleted Google Play services and reinstalled them again…everything works BUT I cannot add any google account. Can you check it out, PLEASE! 🙏

Sadly not the app is the problem. Simple widget to operate to turn off your screen need that permissions. Google are trying to close android.
