Good luck with the season Adam. I'm finishing up for the year. Probably did about 20 cords. My Husky had it's 10th birthday. Really keen to see how that saw holds up and how it compares to a genuine unit. A long term review by a sensible user putting some serious miles on it is truly invaluable. You've also inspired me to start selling 44 gallon drums of wood to campers. Doubled the value of my product! Thanks from down under! Love your work!

Man I gotta post a video of the hydraulic wood splitter my friends dad made from a rail road rail. Never seen one that beefy or ergonomic. Blows the Easton’s away, I’m definitely spoiled.

A tip I learned from an older man when I was hand splitting, "Split the wood the way it grew". Always start the split on the "butt" end and you will have easier split with less "fuzz" Remember, even with hydraulics, you are riving the wood and using the natural tendencies of the wood is helpful. I enjoy your channel. glad Mike Morgan introduced us.

That adjustable wedge is the cat's meow, don't know how many times in the past when using the old splitter my Dad has we had to pick pieces up, and run the through over and over, because it was a 'one size' split.

Use that machine to bring the wood over to your splitter instead of rolling it over by hand, save your back as much as possible. Great video.

Morning Adam! That splitter ripped through that nasty stuff really well. Great point about using the 4 way for splitting it as opposed to a 6 or box wedge. Nicer weather now for working outside. My favourite time of the year. Have a great week!

This is absolutely my favorite time of year. I wish fall lasted longer. It seems like winter is 5 months, spring and summer are 3 months each, and fall only lasts about 2 weeks.

I sell my junk wood (bigger knotted up, face cuts, or very short rounds) by the pile, to my neighbor guy. for less per cord, saves him money and I get 2 to 3 junk cords gone fast. love ur channel man. been slowly building my own side money business up with a happy customer base. holzfforma saws are pretty decent. I have the g660. runs and leaks bar oil like just like my stihl!

It usually start with 3-5 pulls. My Husqvarna rancher is usually 1-3 pull. But I think that is attributable to the bigger engine. 55cc vs 71CC. Take a little more to get it goin

Hey Adam, happy to hear the saw is waking up. I’ve heard mixed things about them.
@HometownAcres
@HometownAcres 3 жыл бұрын
It takes a few more pulls to start than my Husqvarna 455 but I attribute that to just being a bigger motor. I did also throw a chain after I finished up this video but I’ve also thrown a chain on my rancher as well so those are the only 2 problems I’ve had so far

@@HometownAcres when chains are new, they stretch more, and quicker, so you need to pay a bit more attention to tension adjustments, secondly, you might be too lean on low and high jets....factory tunings can be a bit on the leaner side....( scared of EPA regs)

Great video Adam, Sunday morning coffee with a Hometown Acres video. Glad to hear the saw is starting to come to life. Round #2 on the splitter seemed to be gnarly to get through. Have you found a round yet that’s bogged the splitter down enough it’ll not get through ? Take care and stay safe.

The only think that it hasn’t split was a 30” round of hickory on the box wedge and a 26” piece of hard maple on the 6 way wedge
