Amy really did make a great impact on her friends, family, and all us folks watching her. Amy was such a beautiful, rare, life changing person. There isn't EVER a day goes when I don't think of Amy. How she left at too soon a time. How she deserved better and how she deserved to live and grow. Life really is what it is and is unfair. At least Amy lives on in our hearts, memories, and her vlogs and YT uploads. Her message lives to tell the tale. We miss you. RIP.

the onion taste and scent is from your iron i.v.! A lot of people have weird sensations like taste/scent confusion after massive iron supplements!

You’re such an inspiration I’ve been having problems with my iron for 3 years and they just recently decided iron infusions would be the best treatment. I unfortunately got really sick afterwards and had to spend 3 days in hospital. But I’m hopeful this will work. keep going Amy, you’re so strong have a beautiful new year x

Check your ice cube tray and see if it smells like onions. Sometimes from washing with other dishes with onions the onion can transfer over to the tray which also transfers to the ice cubes. :)

I don’t mind wrapping presents but only if I am not in a rush...like when our kids were smaller we used to wrap on Christmas Eve...not recommended because you have to be super quiet and are in a hurry. Now my kids are all in school so I can wrap while they are in school and take my time.

hey so that book "My sisters keeper" is so good. i have so many of the books by that author. She lives in the state next to mine in USA. I highly recomend her books "Lone Wolf" and "Handle With Care"

How strange that your water tasted/smelled like onions. Those PO Boxes were amazing. A nice surprise for after having to stay in the hospital. The box from the US probably did cost a pretty penny to ship. I shipped a single yearbook to Japan years ago and it cost me $40!!! So glad you’re feeling better Amy!!! Hope you can get your shopping done in time for Christmas!!!

I suffer from severe iron deficiency for ages and had to get two infusions while I was in the hospital. It made me feel soooooo good as the doctor said I was anemic for decades. He put me on a large vitamin regiment stated that Vitamin C helps to absorb the iron. He added D3, B12, Ferrous sulphate (something like that) and calcium. I'm doing much better and have lost those dark circles under my eyes. Best wishes to you!!!

P.S. Chastrocondritis (however you spell it) Is inflamation in the chest wall joints and high rib cage. Ouchers. It was my first symptom before Iritis (eye inflammation) when I was 17 of Hla b 27 Genetic factor. Need the Zebra balm ... Awesome idea 💖

Amy, I am also a chronically ill person. I don't have EDS but I feel what you are going through with the repetition and living a life as we do. BUT my sweet (I am in my 40's and am a mum) YOU NEED TO ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF AND TAKE THIS FURTHER. It's not whinging. It's making the road ahead easier for you and those who follow like you. You need to speak with hospital people who take complaints and make changes in patient treatment policy. This hospital's doctors NEED to be educated on EDS obviously and several doctors/people need to be "handled" with regards to how far they let you get before treatment ensued. You will not always be so lucky Amy that you can recover quickly. PLEASE do this for yourself and your future health. regards, Kylie

Long vlog are not I love it and I'm so glad that your feeling so much better, you really need to speak to your gastro team because they playing with your life, your doctor is right they shouldn't have waited so long, you became even more ill before they decided to do anything.

I take iron every day. Due to endometriosis I get low iron. Also sometimes onions unwrapped in the fridge can cause ice to taste like onions, my nana‘s ice was like that.

If you store anything onion in the freezer or wash the ice trays with anything that was containing onion in the sink/dishwasher it can happen

I know how you feel when you really know your body well and the Doctor's brush you off like you don't know what you're talking about and at the end you're right all along...it's happened to me plenty of times and one of my Doctors told me that I was really in tune with my body and that's very rare.

Hi Amy, I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us. Three years ago I was diagnosed with an auto immune disorder and since then I now have 3 major medical conditions and another possible one being investigated. Both of your channels have given me the strength to push through and to stick to my guns with how I’m feeling in my body and has made me fell that I’m not alone. I really look forward to all of your uploads and am doing my catch up watching now. I hope you had an amazing Christmas and 2019 is a great year for you!!!!!!!!

I’ve ran across a few chronically ill people that have passed away before I found their channels. It hurts my heart to see people trying so hard to stay positive and make videos educating people on how their lives are. The first was Claire Winelands and now Amy’s channel. Two beautiful women that fought so hard and while having their moments mostly stayed positive till the end. It actually kinda pisses me off when people like my mom whine and complain when she has an extremely privileged life while people like Amy constantly try to stay positive.

If the wind is blowing at you and your driving into it, it would feel stronger. If you were driving the same direction os the wind at the same speed, then potentially it would be cancelled out.

It’s so frustrating the way they wait until things are ridiculously low before doing anything. I never knew about the onion thing though! My husband always thinks i’m mad. Now i can make him watch this and have my haha moment! It’s horrible since i can’t have onions it makes me feel nauseous as hell! Typo have a whole heap of harry potter things at the moment too! 😊 I have been binge watching your videos tonight 😆 much love from NZ 😘

Maybe your refrigerator needs to get cleaned if you taste onions in the ice. I assume you have an automatic ice maker in your freezer. Same onion taste here on the east coast of the US. Glad you're feeling better.

About the ice .... I kept not drinking water orally when I was in hospital for days due to septic infection. The doctor told me it was a side effect to an anti biotic, that the ice smelled like onion and tasted metally. I was on ... but I just delt with it because it one of the few that was helping me ... LOL wish I could remember the name ...

I'm allergic to iron tablets because my ulcerative colitis flares up any time I take them... I do LOVE to eat ice cubes... I've been deficient in iron before - but never though about going back to my doctor - as he does nothing with mu ulcerative colitis - and just tells me to "avoid whatever you have a reaction to" -> aka, most things... Watching your videos makes me feel like I've got a close friend, lots of love

I've had iron infusions whist pregnant with my son (he's now a 2yo). I only become anaemic during pregnancy. The only side effect was a mild headache but totally worth it!

its not just you with the Ice cubes, i take a anti seizure med called topamax and it make everything I eat and drink plus everything I smell different from what it really it is... for example coffee tastes like grapes, potatoes tastes like donuts, ice cubes tastes like salt, salt tastes like sugar, etc. so it could be one or more of you're meds you take

if you freeze your ice cubes in your freezer without covering them then they can freeze the smell/taste of all food in your freezer into the ice cubes, or at least that's what my science teacher told me.

As far as i know it's the meaning when doctors are in med school they learn the saying "when you hear hooves think horses not zebras" meaning that the answer is normally the simplest unlike Amy (who would be a zebra because she's a complicated case) I'm a zebra too cause I have RSD/CRPS but i could be wrong about if that's what she means but I believe that's why
