WHO IS STA. RITA DE CASCIA?
Rita of Cascia, OSA (born Margherita Ferri Lotti; 1381 - 22 May 1457), was an Italian widow and Augustinian nun. After Rita's husband died, she joined a small community of nuns, who later became Augustinians, where she was known both for practicing mortification of the flesh and for the efficacy of her prayers. Various miracles are attributed to her intercession, and she is often portrayed with a bleeding wound on her forehead, which is understood to indicate a partial stigmata.
Pope Leo XIII canonized Rita on 24 May 1900. Her feast day is celebrated on 22 May. At her canonization ceremony, she was bestowed the title of "Patroness of Impossible Causes," while in many Catholic countries, Rita came to be known as the patroness of abused wives and heartbroken women. Her bodily remains lie in the Basilica of Santa Rita da Cascia.

Let it be that their generosity be a testament in the pages of church history, in building a permanent place-church altar retablo for the 113 year old statue of Sta. Rita de Cascia, Patron of Impossible Causes, it has come to fruition only two years after the fundraising was announced for its construction, during the pastoral guidance of Rev. Fr. Rosello G. Hernandez, AB. MA. STL., fourteenth day of September two thousand and nineteen.
On the sixth year of the pontificate of His Holiness Pope Francis I, in the year of the Youth. His Excellency, the Most Reverend Jesse E. Mercado, D.D., on the sixteenth year of his episcopacy in the Diocese of Parañaque. Blessed and Dedicated this church and its altar under the patronage of STA. RITA DE CASCIA (Patron of Impossibel Causes) on the fourteenth day of September in the year of Our Lord two thousand and nineteen.
