"No max amount you can have in the witch's hut" I would reckon the limit is probably the maximum value of an Int32, given the code used to spawn them is a for-loop iterating on a C# int type, which is typically a signed 32-bit integer. I'm not sure how the underlying XML operates, but even if it does read that value as an unsigned 32-bit or a 64-bit long, the value will be capped by that for-loop. (What might actually happen is that the game will freeze, as the Int32 will infinitely remain smaller than the value from the XML) So the max number of pissed off kids you can get, in theory, is roughly 2,147,483,647 (two billion, one hundred forty seven million, four hundred eighty three thousand, six hundred and forty seven). However, when you start approaching that number of "things" being spawned, you may start to run up against limitations of the game engine itself; for example, each pissed off kid instance may be occupying a slot in an object indexing system alongside things like the player, their inventory, the statues in the room, etc. which may also have a limit of two billion, or even lower, depending on how Stardew Valley addresses and processes its objects. So, the closer you get to that theoretical maximum, the more likely the game will instantly crash due to memory overflow.
