The same happened with me and me quetzal trying to find a titano to tame but a level 200 giga killed the quetz and I tamed the giga and his stats glitched so I got the wild stats for a tamed giga

Be mindful when trapping a giga this way and then flying out if render distance :) there's a high chance that the giga can just magically escape as the trap is no longer rendered

You can try to use your flier to grab a creature for the giga to aggro on without attacking the giga.

It’s so hard for me to find gigas for some reason I know you find em at all the mountains but they almost never spawn for me.One time I was gonna tame a griffin so I went to fats peak and went to get some allo eggs and I saw a Giga but I didn’t have the taming stuff so I got the taming stuff and then right when I went back the Giga was gone😢

So I had am similar scenario where I had a primitive long neck and i repaired a few times, I had to make a foundation and smithy and it was the top of a mountain and it was annoying to repair and the last shot I needed it broke. I ended up not taming the giga :(
