Finch West LRT likely won't be open to public until 2024 despite construction progress

Metrolinx officials say it's now looking likely the Finch West LRT won't be open to riders until the first half of 2024. However, they say crews are working to finish heavy construction by fall 2023. Nick Westoll has more.

Eglington was messed up so they had to rebuild again that’s why the errs a delay with them

Montreal finished their new train project that they started in 2018 and it's up and running. Eglinton LRT started construction in 2010 and still isn't open lol

To be fair its only 5 out of 26 stations that are open on the REM which is like opening the LRT crosstown at only 20 percent completion. Still its very impressive!

Unfortunately Torontonians demand that all transit must be tunneled and that elevated guideways aren’t an option.

Just echoing what the other comment said. The REM only has a small portion of the line done.

At least the Finch West LRT doesn’t have criticism (UNLIKE EGLINTON) It should open in early spring 2024

I drove Finch from 400 to 427 to see the progress. There is a lot of work to do still. My best guess from what I saw is 1 year from now or August 1st, 2024

Metrolinx really messed up on Line 5 Eglinton. Hopefully they've learned. Still the top brass needs to go

Just like Kuala Lumpur 's Shah Alam Line LRT... Gov has confirmed that it won't be opening as of 2024,thry said it would be open at 2025

The Finch West line should have been extended south to Renforth Drive to hook up with the Eglinton West line and new rapid transit to the airport. Connections are key.

They need to hire more people. So many people unemployed...who want to in construction. People shouldn't go through two hours in traffic.......I mean no bathroom 😒

There will be so many fare evaders. Majority of the people who live in the finch west area are just not honest. I see it all the time specially at my stop
