What is CELTA?
CELTA is an internationally recognised qualification for teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) that can be taken online or face-to-face. It is certified by Cambridge and regulated by Ofqual, the UK exams assessor. As such, it is the gold standard teaching qualification. It gives you the skills, knowledge and hands-on experience to start teaching online, in a classroom and around the world.

What’s going to happen to cie a levels exams ? Are they getting postponed ? Many countries are shutting their schools for a month including mine.

Great Video!! It was very useful considering I'll be taking the course in a few months... I just have a question...since it was formerly known as certificate of English language teaching for adults... are the classes focused on adult students? Do you get to teach adults in the teaching practise or children/teenagers?

The course focuses on adults although you will get information about teaching young learners too. You'll teach adults and/or older teenagers in your teaching practice. We recommend you contact your CELTA centre directly about specific details.

Not really appreciated, it is enough to be a native speaker or have 1 year of experience to teach English in South America. No one takes this certificate.

The officiall Cambridge requirements for any potential candidate is "good C1" level. If your tutors are unsure about your level during the interview stages, they might ask you to provide a certificate stating your C1 level or they'd ask you to do a level test at their centre.

@@ketansingh5942 Hi, do you mean the CELTA application process? Every centre has their own application form, in which they ask you to complete several language awareness tasks, write a short text about your motivation, etc. It is not an entrance test but rather a task, which is followed by an interview - this might be in pairs/groups or individual and might focus on your team work, language awareness (again) under pressure, giving feedback, etc. If your level is not good C1, you won't be admitted to the course.

Answer my question please, if I become a CELTA Holder, will I get the chance to teach in the UK or abroad despite having no teaching experience, or a teaching experience of two years is mandatory, thanks.

That depends on the school you want to work for and the country you want to work in. We recommend you contact schools you'd like to work for to find out their exact requirements.

Hello, pls clarify for me: 1. Is it written the location (city, name of the school) where you studied CELTA? 2. Is there an information on certificate about your type of studies? (Online or Face to face) Thanks!

1. Your centre number is on the certificate, which means that an employer can look up where you took the course and verify your certificate. 2. Not on the certificate, but centres can issue a statement which gives this information.
