What is Multiple Sclerosis ❓
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system). In MS, the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body. Eventually, the disease can cause permanent damage or deterioration of the nerves. Signs and symptoms of MS vary widely and depend on the amount of nerve damage and which nerves are affected. Some people with severe MS may lose the ability to walk independently or at all, while others may experience long periods of remission without any new symptoms. There's no cure for multiple sclerosis. However, treatments can help speed recovery from attacks, modify the course of the disease, and manage symptoms.

A silver lining needs to be aknowledged, seen. Even to see a person with the same nailpolish you have, can make you smile. Those are the small everyday silver linings; the small things that you observe and make you smile, happy. Yes this will not happen everyday but I think to open yourself, not punish yourself by looking back, what you could or what profession you had. To look for what you still can do and to rebuild a different self. To discover what you can do, even if it takes you in a different direction. And yes having a relationship, being married, having kids makes you think harder but not nescicerily make it harder. Open up to them and talk about your needs and, maybe, find a silver lining together that can be shared. Even though we think we are, you are never alone.

I've just been diagnosed (a week before Christmas) with MS and Spinal Stenosis, aged 61 (on top of my Rheumatoid Arthritis and Diabetes) and am okay with it. Because!!! I have a roof over my head (there are millions around the world who don't have a home) Enough food on my plate (yet again, hundreds of millions don't have enough food to eat) and I have husband who adores me. (Some go a lifetime looking for love) So, I am still lucky to have all of those and it makes my MS (so far) bearable. I thank you for your positivity too in the wonderful videos Seb. WIth much love, laughter and light. xxx

It is ironic that MS is a debilitating disease but depending how we handle it, it can push us into a mental strength we never knew we had. Good on you bro! Go for your yoga journey. You will continue to inspire others!!

My silver lining is at least it's not a brain tumor, stroke, pinched nerve, slipped disc, bulging disc, other back or brain injuries that could require surgery if even operable. Just after diagnosis I noticed a grocery employee a little younger than me with a cane. I gently asked him why he needs the cane. He explained very optimistically that he has an inoperable brain tumor pressing on his pituitary gland and other issues from that. We both mutually said that sucks about each other's condition.

You’re right. I think gratitude is really important. We’ve lost a lot and it’s hard not focus on that a lot of the time. But it’s also nice to see what I’ve gained. I would never have spoken to you, I wouldn’t have made some amazing friends such as yourself, and I think it’s given me a new outlook that I am grateful for. 🙏🏻 Stay positive friends 🧡

Thanks for sharing this Seb. I think for me instead of encouraging me to achieve my dreams, MS has made me feel that it would just be something else important and meaningful I will lose. I was diagnosed in 2013 too, and feel I've got into this negative way of thinking over the past few years. It's time to rethink some of those thoughts and make some plans. It's just wasted time otherwise.

It’s oh so easy to let oneself be swept away by the negative thoughts, but we have to try to pull ourselves out of them as soon as we can. And as you said, actively rethink what you can do instead, not as a burden, but rather as a solution 🙏🏻🧡

So true Seb "every cloud has a silver lining". And the challenge of every day in any battle we have to fight as human beings is to have "the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference". Easy to write, difficult to put into practice, I know but we have to try. Seb, that harmonious sound of the "angels caller", swayed by the wind, behind the scenes, gave your video a bucolic and sweet taste. Let's go for more Seb. Peace.
