We arrived in Auckland and have to find a place in 10 days before we become homeless. Our goal is to save up €10.000 euros in 4 months to buy a van and make our dream to travel New Zealand in our own van come true.
We are viewing some apartments and find out it's way harder than we expected to find something. WILL WE MAKE IT?

Please please don’t drink Starbucks in nz. There are soooooo many great cafes and coffee roasters here to support.

It rains alot for a short time in Auckland! Yeah going out for dinner is about $100 same as melbourne or sydney, good choice cooking at home. Boycott airbnb ! Most airbnbs could be rentals and the market is shocking. You will struggle to find a 6month lease and no negotiation is very normal. For example my rental the landlord uses half the double garage and walled it off so I only have room for tools not a car.There are L300 or Hiace for $12k on marketplace. New Zealand overall peaked in 2000s-2010s it is now unaffordable and ridiculous.

We really don't mind the rain and are so happy with the weather so far. We unfortunately don't feel like having another choice then an airbnb. Thank you so much for so many good tips! We plan doing a trip next week by rental car and are very excited for it!!
