When we get married, we’re likely to bring baggage into the relationship. It might be unrealistic expectations or trauma of one sort or another, or it might be something of a more sinful nature. Those sinful tendencies can hurt your spouse and put a wedge between you, maybe even putting your marriage at risk. On this two-day Focus on the Family broadcast, Bob and Dannah Gresh share how sexual sin nearly tore their marriage apart, but through God’s grace and love (and professional counseling) they found healing and growth.

With SO MANY marriages being destroyed and couples still having to live IN that destruction (therapy is not available or an option for everyone, and having been betrayed by the very church that was supposed to bring healing) these videos are good - but when points are passed on so quickly for the sake of time they tend to just leave with more questions. I wish there could either be longer segments to be able to go into more detail about how to overcome, or more shorter segments. This really feels like it could have been 4 parts - so more time could have been spent on each point more. But thank you for what has been posted.

Dannah said she would be seeking the Lord while he was away and then her defenses would immediately come up when she saw him - I wish more had been discussed on how to overcome that. Luckily she had a husband who wanted restoration so I'm sure that made it much easier.

This sounds very familiar. Though me and my wife have been seperated for 5mo. I'm working on myself. I think Dannah and my wife feel similar. I desire soo much to save our marriage.

I deal with that too. During the day when I'm at work, I can feel gentle and loving and forgiving, and then as soon as I see my husband it's like I'm a completely different person and I don't even want to speak to him even though it's what I had been thinking about all day. I don't know how to overcome it.

And Greg said he dealt with the accountability questions knowing they were a consequence- I wish more had been discussed on the thought process there. But I'm sure they were asked and he knew there was love somewhere behind the questions that helped keep his bitterness at bay. It all SOUNDS so "easy" when these points are glossed over for the sake of time.

Thank you! Thank you so much for disclosing and sharing this! I needed the words and scriptures from all of you to help me realize I AM NOT ALONE! My husband and are NOT ALONE as we heal! Thank you Jesus for hearing my heart cries! Thank you for the daily redemption or our marriage! Bring us to a place of intimacy as spoken by these people and your word!

Why would a man marry a woman without first knowing her past? And Bob can't forgive her for her past. She didn't sin against him.
