Thanks, it's always good to hear someone else's machine, hitting on a target, what it sounds like for the size it is and the ground your over. Plus, if you can't get out, you can do it vicariously thru someone else's video, like yours.

Thanks for the great video and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. I have a couple of other VLF's a Minelab Xterra 705 dual pack and a Garrett AT Pro. several coils for both of them, but neither will pick up the really small pieces like the GM1000. My PI is the Garrett ATX, and while it does pretty good on smaller pieces, it kinda maxes out at about the .3gm or so. So I just bought the GM1000 on Black Friday. Looking forward to getting out with it when I get home. Nevada has some extremely heavy mineralized ground in certain areas. So any tips and tricks you can pass on, would be very appreciative mate!! Thanks, Bob

I've had the GM1000 for well over a year now. My main detector is a Woody modified 4500, but as you say, the GM is used on shallow bedrock.Might I suggest running in all metal and auto1. A good ground balance and it'll run as smooth as glass. On weak signals, I'll move to a manual setting to check, but always run in auto1.

Thanks for the very useful video Sean. I was just starting to regret my VLF purchase (Garret AT Max) and thinking a second hand PI may have been smarter. It doesn't matter if your ground is sensitive and keeps making noise which is obviously annoying and making it harder to determine what is under the ground. I think people put to much emphasis on noisey ground. I have fought noisey ground for 30+ years. Yeah, it's a pain, but I'm pretty good at snagging targets from amongst the noise. My motto is, when in doubt, dig a little! If it's true you'll get an increase in response. Same with discrimination capabilities. I got my monster a few weeks ago and right out the gate got some gold in quarts. Yesterday I broke the ice and got a small nugget in the pouring rain. 🙃 2 hours my rain gear was getting soaked through. I'll be back! This was an area that I previously found some beutiful chispa's and numerous nuggets and had hammered to death with a minelab 2100 and gold bug 2. Also, where I found the gold quartz, I found tiny pieces of blasting cap at 4-5 inches! I guarantee that I've been over and over that ground with the bug and missed those targets! My bug days are over! Hello monster!

Great video, great tips for a new owner of a Gold Monster 1000. But I have a question: at what point do you use the 10 inch coil? And do you have any problems using it at the beach looking for coins and such? Thank you. PS. I SUBSCRIBED.
@BustedknucklesProspecting
@BustedknucklesProspecting 4 жыл бұрын
You will only change to the 10” coil, if you are really having trouble stabilising your machine In highly mineralised grounds, example: if you turn your sensitivity down, you start losing coil depth, so if you turn the sensitivity down to the 6th bar, you have already lost about 1 inch of depth. If you have to go any lower then the 6th bar, you would then just change over to the 10” coil. Reason being, the 10” coil is less sensitive and will handle the heavier mineralization in the ground at a higher sensitivity setting, The idea is to always get the most amount of depth from your coils in every situation.. Now if all this still happens with the 10” coil and you still can’t get it stable at a decent setting, it means you need a pulse induction machine and not a VLF machine. I could go on forever because there are so many different areas and scenarios that hold different answers. My best advice is learn everything you can about vlf machines and best places to use them because they are a completely different machine to the big pulse induction machines
@rockbottom1969

Wow! Thanks for the in depth reply regarding my question. It makes perfect sense to learn by trial and error how the Gold Monster performs in different areas of the world for that matter. Be it in the desert, over rocky terrain, searching over bedrock, or on the beaches of Mexico in my case. I bought my Gold Monster 1000 for me and my wife to use to get us out of the house and be active but mostly to hunt for the many treasures that lie beneath the surfaces waiting for us to discover and to explore. So thank you once again for the great videos that you and many of the other Gold Monster users post as well. They have all been very helpful and very useful for people like me who have a yearning to get outside and find gold and hidden treasures that are there for the finding. Keep up the good work mate. As they say in Spanish..Buena Suerte amigo Good luck my friend. ⛏⚒🤞🤞

I can’t give you a fair honest suggestion as detecting has many factors to consider. All I can say is, the 7000 is apparently the best machine on the market but the 6000 is cheaper and probably do just as good of a job. If your a beginner starting out, I’d suggest a sdc2300 and learn with that before blowing 10k on something

The Black Sand Tracking it offers sure works good for tracking the Black Sands ribbons for panning. Here in Southern New Mexico some of our grounds are probably every bit as mineralized as the stuff you guys are dealing with.
