It would be great to also learn Auslan, as this would help Wylder identify as being bilingually deaf and being able to converse in two languages (English and Auslan). To greatly support your son, I strongly recommend the parents learn Auslan too. This would help create a special bond between Wylder and his parents. Commnication and language are so vital at this phase of life for many deaf/hard of hearing infants/young children, even with the assistance of a C.I. Wylder is so adorable! All the best!
