Living in Singapore (and cities in general) can be pretty stressful sometimes -- not only is the pace of life really fast, but you feel really detached from nature. Yet, every time I make the effort to slow down, detach myself from my life, and take a look around me, I realize there's still a lot of the natural world, right here in Singapore, lying in plain sight.
I wanted episode 2 of Simply Self-care to be about nature for many reasons. Firstly, nature has taught me so many important self-care lessons that I carry with me into my life, that I share in this video. Second, I think a big part of finding satisfaction in life is to learn how to appreciate the small things, and for me, that has meant learning how to live a simple life in a city. It's always easier to disconnect when you're far away in nature, but I believe the pockets of urban wilderness are worth treasuring, too.
There is so much beauty in this world to be thankful for, if we keep our hearts and minds open.
