Thank you Noah. I have been sidelined this summer and fall. Your vids have kept me sane. I had trips to Big Bend, and Nogales planned, but COVID killed both trips. No one in my home has gotten sick, but we have stayed hunkered down. Next spring ....

Not most. Specifically common with the Copperhead/Cottonmouth family, as he mentioned in the video. But you will see caudal luring in other species/areas, for sure.

Juvenile copperheads and cottonmouths have the lime green tail. The lime green tail disappears as they get older.

@@slipperysam764 just asking but how big can a black rat snake get to and I am asking because when I was young I was at a summer camp with the Boy Scouts out in north central Pennsylvania and like everytime I went I kept seeing black rat snakes and I remember one time a big black rat snake was in the campground I was in and it was so big that we had to call the ecology people which is like rangers but they take in wild animals

@@chasemurraychristopherdola7108 The full grown adults often get to 6 feet and some exceptional specimens have been reported at nearly 8 feet. I have read this makes them the longest indigenous species in North America though th Indigo Snake is also commonly over/ near 6 feet when fully grown. Of course, the pythons in Florida (18 feet plus) are an invasive species.

I know they're kind of ho-hum for the average herper but I think southern copperheads are the most beautiful native snakes in North America... second to the Eastern indigo snake of course.

how do you find so many snakes?? i live in Virginia, and spend alot of time in the woods during the summer, i never see that many snakes... last year all i saw was a hognose, and a copperhead all summer long

A good place to start is by searching inaturalist and joining and asking at you local Herpetological society

They don't hurt bad. No snakes really do and nerodia bite alot so if you catch them with much frequency you get used to it.

Seeing 2:35 to 3:15 makes up for a rotten experience I had earlier this year, where the Water Snake wasn't so fortunate. I wasn't the one who caused it, but it was still horrible.

newbie here.. learning ..and loving your channel.. watching the water snake.. question: having invasive snakes in areas due to "irresponsible humans", can different snake breeds mate? can a water snake mix with a copperhead or h-back? Your car sounds like it has a crack in the catalytic converter, most of those have a recall, if it doesn’t it might in the future. Go to your dealer and see what they say. You can get an inspection and recall inspection for free my dude. That way they can check everything else out that others may have missed. Losts of places “miss” stuff cuz they don’t want to work on Subarus even though they are really easy to work on. Just not as common. Subaru tech here.

Had the hatch lock and ignition glitch (wouldn't release key) both fixed out of warranty gratis by Subaru of America. No recalls on either, but had bulletins.

@@fly_speck_cafe usually the ignition stick due to the shifter. Or parts in the shifter, but the hatch is a separate issue whether or not they admit it. But it’s possible that since the key was stuck in the ignition the hatch had problems? Small possibility.the shifter does have bulletins, basically it’s not a safety issue but subaru for admit there has been a god amount of this problem so they post a bulletin after so many repairs saying this is a common issue. And give a repair to fix this problem to make it easier to fix this large amount of problems.

@@fly_speck_cafe usually there back latch is the latch itself but can possibly be the motor or sensors along the hatch. It all needs diagnosis to make sure. But if they fixed it then I would trust thats it’s fixed. If not, maybe I can help. Just need more info

I completely agree with you on that and I would love to see a tiger snake and a saw scaled viper and I would love to see sea snakes the Fer de lance the bushmaster the tiger rattlesnake neotropical rattlesnake and I would love to see herping in Mexico because Mexico has the Mexican bearded lizard the cantil the Baja gopher snake the godmans pit viper the Mexican snake eater the aquatic box turtle the blue racer the conants garter snake Colorado desert sidewinder davis leaf toed gecko false cat eyed snake giant spotted whiptail Guatemalan helmeted basilisk desert iguana diamondback water snake or I would love to see herping in Canada because up in Canada you got Lake Erie water snake and sharptail snake

They’re from the same family iirc, reds have a very distinct red belly so you can easily tell the difference
