got the same bike, FXDX 2000 :) Recently I have learned something new when servicing the bottom end, when the dots on the sprockets (bottom end) are facing each other being in line with the axles of the nuts of the sprockets (min distance) it is TDC on the rear cylinder. When still in line but the bigger sprocket's dot is opposite the smaller one ( smaller one still on 11 o'clock) it is TDC in front. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fbKbhKd_xtTInoE.htmlsi=w-HvvdsnQzsPLGgJ 25:20 hth

I was actually going to include that in the video, but only the rear line up as you mentioned. The front won’t line up opposite with a straight line due to the 405 degree gap after both cylinders fire. It really made me think about first as I expected it to line up. When you line up sprockets opposite for the front, piston won’t be at true TDC. Hence I didn’t include it, not to confuse anyone:)

@@aronsgarage834 true, this could be confusing, but as you said, the rockers position and the free rotation of the rods are the indication for the TDC. I have done it the same way. And believe me or not, my bike had still the original double ball bearing setup in the cam plate :) I have upgraded them, pressed the race on the cam and got the new full complementary needle bearings from koyo. Finally I have measured the runout on the pinion shaft, fixed the magnet of the dial gauge to the engine and got a reading of 0,03 mm / 25,4 = 0,001" happy days!

Right on bud! Funny you should say that, I just measured mine yesterday (made a video, will probably upload tomorrow) and my runout is just over 0.020 mm so just under 0.001 in , so happy about it too :)) Doing the Screaming Eagle upgrade right now. Will be posting individual videos and at the end a 3 part series of the whole project. Did you do hydraulic conversion or gear drive?

@@aronsgarage834 I have put new bearings and replaced the tensioner shoes with CYCO Gasket. They should last for a long time I guess.
