Skip the TV and just go on the balcony or go to the shows that they have who needs TV on vacation. But, nice room thanks Don.

Nice room tour. The long balcony seems like a waste of space the way they only put 2 chairs and a small foot rest. They should have at least put some chaise lounge chairs or perhaps a table big enough so two could have a meal outside and enjoy the view. The Fantastica package offers free room service, so that would be a fun thing to do if one chose not to go to the MDR or buffet.

Wow, that TV is quite puny! But that balcony, holy cow! Just wished they would've put a chaise lounge out there too and maybe a small table to really enjoy it.

Nice looking cabin. One pet peeve from all ships.....I wish they wouldn’t put throw cushions on the bed. I’m sure they’re not washed all the time. Gives me the creeps!🙁

We were on MSC Divina in Feb 2020 and we booked an aft balcony cabin and these balconies are huge as well.

I would prefer the regular balcony so I could see the ocean from the bed the extra balcony space would just be a waste plenty of space on the regular balconies.

I agree, I'd rather have that space in the room, or have some loungers on the balcony.

One could always use the extra balcony for sun bathing (or just laying down) when the sun is in the area. Loungers would be a great perk on that balcony too.

@Candy Jackson yes agree I don’t think you could sunbath very well. The other cabin my husband and I like is the balcony cabin on the RC Oasis class that overlooks the boardwalk. It was hubbies idea to choose this one, I was afraid it would be noisy, it wasn’t and anytime they had an Aqua show we could sit in our balcony and watch. I was afraid I would miss seeing the ocean but I could still see it from the balcony behind the Aqua theater, he convinced me saying I could always go on the decks and see the ocean which is true. Surprisingly I really liked this location and we have chosen it again for our May cruise. The one room I wouldn’t do again (unless it was free) was an inside cabin, we did it once and that was more than enough. Yes I know I just got spoiled with the great balcony ones. Have a wonderful next cruise.

@Candy Jackson yes that’s bad that solo cruisers pay as much as two, more of the lines need solo cabins. I don’t think they would have any problems booking them out. If you get the chance when you both can cruise take a look at the boardwalk cabins they really are fun. They are a bit more expensive than the other balcony cabins but we really do enjoy them. Even when there isn’t an Aqua Show on you can do some people watching or just relax to a very pretty view. We are looking forward to May. Do you have any cruises planned currently?? Happy sailing!

@Candy Jackson sounds like both should be great. I completely understand $1600.00 is quite a bit more and you can spend as little time as you want in the room. We have not cruised Princess yet but I have heard good things about them. It’s always great to have cruises to look forward to!! Enjoy them both and be safe!

I always thought the best way to pick a cabin was to pick one surrounded by other cabins side to side and above and below, and not adjacent to a crew area. And I think it was one of your videos I got that from.

We were on Divina back in July of 2014, a 19 day trip from Rio to Miami. It was the best trip ever, on a fantastic ship 👏👏🛳

Hey Don Thank You for bringing back some nice memories. I sailed on the Fantasia a couple of years ago Next time I’ll try their Yacht Club I caught a video yesterday that claims that the number of cruise ships now heading for a date with the Gas Axe is now 27 Apparently the CDC has now reviewed the Health and Wellness protocols of 50 cruise ships Unfortunately I don’t know how many have either been accepted or rejected.

I was on the Divina in January. The shower doors were a nice feature I've only seen on MSC cruise ships. She's a really good ship but rather crowded in a lot of places.

I spent one week in MSC Splendida, Aurea cabin 9009, and one week in MSC Preziosa, cabin 8013. These ships belongs to the same class ship as MSC Divina. Wonderful class ship, wonderful cabins too.

That tv was sooooo tiny! Hubby and I like to chill out in the afternoon on a sea day and watch a movie then nap. I do not think I would be able to watch much of anything on that. I would trade a smaller balcony for a larger tv :) Thanks for sharing!!

I had one of those rooms aboard the Divina... twice. The first time I was randomly assigned there. The second time I specifically requested it. I think it was 13029 but couldn't swear to it.

Hey Don, I took a look at the deck plans for the Divina and where your cabin was located. You mentioned that it was quiet. But on the deck plans, the lifts (elevators) look like they are right outside of your cabin door practically. Am I mistaken or was it just really quiet? My wife and I will be on the Celebrity Millennium February 2022 to Eastern Caribbean. Aqua Class A1 aft view Deck 11. Our balcony is 8' 6" wide and goes out 13" on one side and 9' on the other side for a whopping 93.5 Sq Ft. Although it is right over the Sunset Bar, there's no worries about that. We'll just lower a bucket down with our ID cards, the bartender will them make the drinks and I'll reel in the bucket. Is life good or what?

The area of ship that juts out, and makes for a bigger balcony, is called the hump. It's what we always look for when we book a cruise.

Hello Don! I nearly went on a MSC ship last year, but choose a Carnival ship. I heard the food on MSC wasn't that great in the buffet and it was one of the thing that turn me off MSC. I was wandering what's your take on the food on MSC? Thank you for the videos! Love them!

If there was a dining table and chairs it would be much better use of all that space, we have had it on other ships with loungers beyond at the railing. Just my opinion off course :)

Hi Don! I love that you did this tour! I have been on the Divina. I had cabin 12078 booked in January 2021 and it is the same type of room. However, that cruise has been canceled since the Divina will not be in the US until March...then, it makes it's way to Port Canaveral. It was supposed to be my 40th Bday cruise...now I have to find another one. 😞 But thank you for the tour! Totally agree with you about the shower doors! I wish more ships would do that too! Those cabins and balconies are pretty cool! I love an angled balcony!

Having a handicapped wife makes me look at cabin design a little differently. While you liked the shower door design, we consider inward-opening doors to be a safety issue. What happens if someone slips in the shower and falls against the door? We'll take shower curtains or outward-opening shower doors. A mishap with either of them won't trap someone in the shower.

Hi Don, interesting cabin. I think it's difficult to book of these, because a lot of experienced cruisers allready know such cabins. I found another interesting type of cabin on MSC's Fantasia Class ships (Fantasia, Splendida and Preziosa). The location is not the best (near the Atrium), but the size and shape ot the balcony of cabins 9145/9146 is nearly double the size of the surrounding cabins. The best cabins in my opinion are always Yacht Club cabins, but their price is normally also about double the price of a Fantastica balcony.

I booked cabin # 12125 on the MSC Meraviglia for next year and that also has the same size of Balcony but it is closer to the middle of the ship but it is the opposite layout so it might be more windy but I am sure that it will be worth it

I have reservations on Divina with aft balcony #13227...it is a very small balcony...I am in the process of changing cabins,,I saw videos of these balconies after I booked...Beware of aft balconies on floor 13.

Im scheduled to be on this ship in March of 2021. The ship launched in 1993 so its 27 yrs old. But it was renovated in 2017. Its a small ship that holds a little over 2000 passengers. No keen on the balcony as the view to the right is obstructive. We have booked an ocean stateroom on Divina and it’s on deck 13 at the aft and comes with a tiny balcony at no extra cost and a true 360 view….

I have been on 6 cruises on msc and the rooms I got were not that good I had a suite and did not have a couch it gets last cruise I was in the yatht clou

Not the best balcony Don, We have sailed on 60 plus cruises with balconies, and all better than that steel tunnel leading out to that angled balcony. We like to be able to see out to sea from the room, lounge on the balcony on loungers where possible. Like to see the ports up and down the ship. This balcony to us is not that good.
