Finding the Perfect camp , Kariotahi Beach 4x4

We travel down to kariotahi beach on the west Coast south of Auckland City
Come along as we explore the dune tracks and explore the area looking for that perfect campsite
Watch as we cook up a storm with our crew Chef Ryan and see where the overnight trip takes us

I do plan to do a run video on the truck and the trailer I’ve just been doing a few extra mods to the trailer this week including a two inch lift

That's the Waikato river mouth, down the end there.

Yes and on the other side is the Port Waikato Sand dunes Another great place for a day trip

Would I be able to drive with my 2x4 on kariotahi beach?

No I wouldn’t if the tide is up a bit as it’s pretty soft sand On a very low tide maybe but I would see if others have driven down the beach first

@JL2OFFRD all good, thank you . Are the sand on Muriwai the same soft?And do I have better luck to drive there?

@kiwietsbehrens muriwai is much harder at a very low tide but getting on and off the beach is soft

You are definitely not allowed to camp at Muriwai Beach but Kariotahi has always been a camping beach There are no signs saying you can’t camp there
