This helps but what would the answer be if the arc length was 17cm and the angle was 29 degrees?
@MrHelpfulNotHurtful4 жыл бұрын
The procedure would be exactly the same as what I show in the video. Just substitute 29 instead of 26 and 17 instead of 19. I believe in you. I know you can do it.
@melfynazzacquelynn9172 Жыл бұрын
does the equation differ if you're given a major arc instead of a minor arc? because in the video, the 19cm is from the minor arc.

What if all you have is the arc. I have a curved steel bracket and need to come up with the stave angles. I’ll need to determine what percentage of a circle my arc is so I need to determine the radius but all I have is the arc length and the chord length.

Hi sir , can you please do for me an E.g of finding a radius and an arc length given the area sector and a feta .
@MrHelpfulNotHurtful2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you are asking my friend. We can find the radius given arc length and angle. We can find the angle given arc length and radius. We can find the arc length given angle and radius. We can find the radius given angle and sector area. We can find the sector area given angle and radius. We can find the angle given sector area and radius. Which of these six things would you like to learn about?
@rhod532 жыл бұрын
kinda confused me because he said to multiply both sides by 360 but he didn't multiply the central angle (52). But overall, the solution is correct i tried checking my answer if the theta and the radius matches the arc length using a = θ π r ² and it does! great video! ------- 360
@knownstranger31152 жыл бұрын
He multiplied 360 with the fraction. When you do this, it basically removes it. This is because you are dividing it by 360, then multiplying it by 360.

How will we find radius if only arc length is specified is 13 and central angle is theta.
@MrHelpfulNotHurtful3 жыл бұрын
That’s not enough information to find the radius. You need to know the angle measure.

Can we find the radius only with arc length?

No. You need the degrees too.

@MrHelpfulNotHurtful2 жыл бұрын
@@flordelizaopulencia8261 It sounds like x and y are the coordinates of points on a circle and they want you to find the radius. One moment. Let me find the video for you…
@MrHelpfulNotHurtful2 жыл бұрын
Couldn’t find the video so I will try to explain in text. The equation of a circle centered at the origin is x2 +y2 =r2. If x is 3 and y is 4 you have 3 squared plus 4 squared equals r squared. This gives 9 + 16 = r squared. This means 25 = r squared so r =5 after taking the square root.

How about the given is only the degree measure?
@MrHelpfulNotHurtful3 жыл бұрын
That’s not enough information to determine the radius. For example you could have a 30 degree measure on a ⭕️ with radius 8 and you could also have a 30 degree measure on a ⭕️ with radius 10.
@Hitchiez2 ай бұрын
But what if you don't have the arc length?? I literally only have the angle
@MrHelpfulNotHurtful2 ай бұрын
That’s not enough information to determine the arc length. You could have a small circle with a 30° angle and then you could have a big circle with a 30° angle. The arc lengths would not be the same.

I just checked my answer by plugging my radius back into the arc length formula and I am getting 19 as I should. Try plugging your radius in and see if you get 19. I don’t think you will. If you share your calculations, I will tell you where you went wrong.
