Just love this film with its emphasis on putting relationships before tasks; seeing that all people have a right to choice and agency in their lives whether or not they are living with dementia; the residents having important roles which are valued in the community( loved the two sales managers of the bucket list!) and the intergenerational and interspecies relational elements. Wow ! wow! wow!

I love the passion, the integrity of the staff at Starrett Lodge. It's my dream to work in such a place, and to have the same level of care and support in every aged care facility. As someone who works in a dementia closed secure unit, it breaks my heart to see, and be a part of a task oriented ward. As much as I try to create a person centered environment, there is only so much I can do without the support of my co workers and management.

Im currently working as a Trainer and Assesor for Certificate III in Individual Support which is the entrant level qualification needed to work in aged care. Thank you so much for this video. I often used it as part of my learning plan. I want my student to see what's possible. Im hoping to inspire future carers to see thing through your eyes.

YAY! Someone gets it! I knew all of this intuitively as soon as I saw my Mom decline when she was placed in a so-called "care facility." I wish all "traditional" care facilities could get past believing their model and system is right and really get focused on the people who are living with dementia. Congratulations on your excellent approach to care! We all need to follow your innovative, loving and sensible model. Thank you so much!

I'm working as a caretaker looking after 91 years old, and at the moment I'm doing the age care course online and I'm looking forward to work in this industry, I'm very impressed watching the videos.

Watching this makes my heart melt. Dad has had to go into care - he is only young , 70 yrs of age. He is totally fine mind wise but he has no mobility suffering from a disease similar to MS .
