Thrift stores are just the best treasure troves aren't they? I love the thrill of the chase, hunting through everything looking for all those awesome little bits and pieces to add to the craft stash. What a cool haul! And I love how you put the lego sets together with your grandson, that is a wonderful memory he will be able to treasure forever 💜💜💜

I have been addicted to thrift stores and estate sales for so long, I love how its like walking into a time warp. I tried to get to an estate sale while I was visiting but there weren't any of interest, and where I live now kind of sux for any of that stuff even miniature shows and stores, non existence in these parts! The family always brings me broken things to fix, they think I can fix anything, but some things jus't can not be fixed, and then I'm left to be the bad news bear 🤣

The little hands are Hamsa hands. They ward off evil, open up the universe, protect you from evil in Islamic long ago lore. Usually there is a gem in the palm. I totally enjoyed your video. I just love watching all you miniturists weave your magic. 💕

I bought a couple of those Walmart wooden house kits for my mother and I to work on together for a Christmas project a couple years ago. They are more like a “model” to build than a dollhouse but we had so much fun with them! We both created a living area in our houses with a bit of furniture and added lighting so you can peek in the windows and see a little scene. We both modified the back roof panel to lift off to access the inside if needed. We added outdoor details and they look very different from one another. They were so much fun to embellish and decorate!

I thought it would be fun for a kid craft, even if he didn't want to, I found a car one too!😉💖 I haven't opened it yet, but I'm pretty sure modifications would be easy enough. It does kind of look like it would be a cool Gingerbread House😍Thanks for sharing, I love hearing about others' craft stories.🥰

The Rye tag goes over the neck of a liquor decanter. 😊 I think it would be cool to remove the cain and place a faux Elk's head in the centeer of the tag as the tag looks like a shield.

Interesting, funny where things come from..lol thank you for sharing that. I thought of a shield as well, but I saw a hanging sign. However, I thought it was neat! Elks head or some sort of hunting trophy is an excellent idea!🥰❤️

What a great haul as well gifts from others! One of our local thrift stores has “bag day” twice a month … as much as you can put in a brown grocery bag is $5! It’s the best way I’ve been able to get many great things for minis - fabrics, buttons, toys, embroidered pieces, wood, etc. It has spoiled me greatly! It’s now hard for me to buy unless it’s bag day! 🙂. Thanks for video! Kathleen

I can't wait to see you transform these things! Also, even if you cut up clothing, you can still donate the remnants to Planet Aid in the yellow bins. They recycle textiles. I keep a bag going of items to donate and drop them in the bin once it's full. They take purses, shoes, bags, belts etc too.

Yay! I'm glad you're home! I was thinking about you yesterday and I was going to send you a little message...but here you are! Love the idea of looking through the costume jewelry. I'm on the look out for those little "display" boxes as well. Also in desperate need of the little clear drawers that are usually for screws and bolts and what not so I can see all the bits and bobs that I have when trying to come up with ideas. LOL, the fairy doors are the best!

Aw, that's so sweet! Thank you so much! 🥰 Those little clear bead boxes are perfect for tidbits. I just need to get better organized..lol I can never find anything I need and know I have. I'm too forgetful for this setup..😂 I am so inspired by your chicken village. 😍 Gosh, I wish I could have my own and so glad you have videos of them because I've always wanted a few, really a peacock! It was very educational and entertaining.. I hope you definitely continue to make more. Buuuuuut, since I can not have my own at this time, I have collected some for The Josephine Farm. Your village is my inspiration, I will be referencing your video when I do. 😍 I was originally going to do a dry run only because I've never seen one like yours, I think they will need the shade. I can't wait to get to the outside, I just need to extend the base and work space for that. I am on the look out for letterpress type drawers, look for those too, they make great display boxes and I found this on Amazon, they also have larger ones. 7 Elements 4 Drawer Wooden Artist Storage Supply Box for Pastels, Pencils, Pens, Markers, Brushes and Tools a.co/d/3HZzHnw

Nice minis. Dansville & the area is so pretty, used to drive that way quite often. Fairy doors must be a thing in NY, there is a park near Rochester with a similar festival. Our family has collected several fairy doors over the years from Renn Faires & we have them displayed in our homes too.

Maybe I will bring a fairy door and set it up. 😍 The next time I go up, I will be with my grandson. He will love that! We also have Genessee Country Museum on the list. and of course, the Strong Museum of Play, that's where my miniature journey began. When I was young, they had the most amazing miniature exhibit, which is only remnants now🥺. I also have Mt. Hope Cemetery is coming up after my next project video.

It probably ly too late for you to read this -I'm fairly new to the channel so I'm catching up - but please! If you haven't already, please don't cut those beautiful linens! If they are in useable shape, as they appear to be, do use them. If they are really worn, torn, hole-ly then of course cut them up. As a child I always 'saw' how I could use such things to sew for my dolls! What a beautiful wedding dress etc but they truly are treasures. I have some from my grandmother that are pre-1950.
