Viewers: these are collection of OTHER ARTISTS' videos, all in China. It is NOT the fine art academy's art. Having said that, I really appreciate the fine art academy putting these videos here. I enjoy watching and learning from these videos. The materials are mainly Chinese made. It is a general rule for this type of drawing/cast drawing you should start with softer pencil. The wonderful teacher here who uses a very soft pencil to start with, probably 8b maybe even 12b!

I love how- within minutes- a tapestry of angles can turn into a vivid masterpiece. The movement, shading, and tone of the piece complement each other in so many ways!

The eyes and the corner of the lips feels so alive.. AMAZING!

Love the fact that you get a sense of movement in this piece, almost like her body is moving backwards on the verge of walking away.

Tip: if u want to blend darker like this artist take some graphite powder ander take a little powder on your napkin paper and rub it your drawing.

I never tire of watching your students draw ... this one, in particular, is a wonderful artist and has created a stunning work of art!! :-)

As the final output shows, I see a great difference between the expressions. The picture of the girl looks reserved and faraway, while the portrait is much more dreamy yet open, lighter. Or maybe it's only because I see the portrait up close that's why I notice her expression. The portrait is amazing, though. It's not heavy and done just enough to appreciate her features. Some of those I've seen were heavy and too much contrasted.

It's like sculpting in 2D. Neat.

It actually would be helpful to know the mediums used in this beautiful drawing. it is kind of a guessing game--graphite and graphite powder or is their charcoal involved?

It is the standard quick way portrait practice skills in China,( for the art student in high school level), it is hard to draw like him without the understanding of the light and tones. Drawing like this save time and effective outcome in the end, however the it command tons of skills and internal understanding of many things, I've been training like this in the past, and it was difficult to achieve my goal. I learn the basics again when i finished my drawing learning when I was at high school.
