If the LCD screen needs to be swapped, the fingerprint sensor does not recognize the new screen and won't work. Some people supposedly got away with installing a previous firmware revision to calibrate the sensor then go back to the current firmware. Samsung has decided mom and pop repair shops are cutting in to their revenue, and forcing repairs to be done by Samsung owned shops.
