Hello friends!
Welcome to a post completion review of one of my recently finished diamond paintings, "Psyche Entering Cupid's Garden" (1903-1904) from Jaded Gem Shop and artist John William Waterhouse. I originally ordered this kit as a custom diamond painting kit, but it has since been added as a prepackaged kit option to Jaded Gem Shop's site (since it is part of the public domain). This was my tentpole kit for the event Summer With the Masters 2023, and my third annual custom of a John William Waterhouse piece for this event. This is the happiest I've been with how one of these customs has turned out! It looks amazing! I’m always impressed with the amount of detail Jade gets in her kits. And a lot of these old masters paintings are much much larger than average diamond painting canvases so it’s not surprising a larger canvas would produce a “better” rendering. The whole stepping back thing is also what artists do with their work so it’s a very good suggestion.

Hi Katie, beautiful canvas. The completion turned out well. I didn't work on my Summer with the Masters for a whole week. WHT? My caregiver saying Diamond painting is a sh*ty hobby for little girls ages five to 12 years old. I started working on Cafe Terrance at Night by Van Gagh this past Monday. I had a tooth pulled on Thursday. Because of the pain,I stopped working on the canvas. These sound like excuses. Plus, I realize I have pulled out the victim card. I know we do not have to finish. I will send over a photo of what I have finished so far. Once again love what you completed. John William Waterhouse is one of my favorite artists. Have a great Sunday.

I just know I will participate next time. I have been so scared to try super confetti heavy or a custom but I think that once I do Outside the Sweet Shop then I will get over the confetti part. And since you stated that Jade gives so much guidance on what size an art piece will look good in then I know that will be comforting as well. Looking forward to trying Summer with the Masters next time!

I absolutely love this painting, I love all of John William Waterhouse’s artwork. I did order Psyche Entering Cupids Garden from Jade. I believe it’s a 40x60 but know I’m wondering if I chose a wrong size. Thank you Katie for being so inspiring!
