Janey idea what about a pot over the pebbles so you don’t even notice the pavers aren’t in corners?

Came here to say the same thing! Great way to disguise the missing pavers but also designate an entrance until the pergola is added.

Love all that you've done! I have fountains and a suggestion is to buy a simple clamp and put it on the tubing and tighten to desired water stream so you won't have to worry about it changing on you. I'm also a little concerned about the wood chips on the concrete not staying level for you to walk on or rain washing it out. I think you would need edging around the concrete to hold it all in place if you decide to go that route. I personally like the clean look of the concrete separating the spaces.

On another video I suggested using a trash can lid covered in a trash bag to make your bird bath. In actuality, a kid's snow saucer would be better. I just love the diamond patio. I might do it, but it has to wait because I have so many other projects! I know it's too late now, but I would have tried to cut the concrete pavers from point to point to make triangles and set those.

Janey, great job on the pavers, they look great. I agree with you, if the pergola posts are going yo be on the front corners the pavers aren’t necessary. I love that fountain! Have you considered placing one of those focus lights to illuminate the lion’s head at night? I think that it would be beautiful. You can find them solar or electrical 😊

I love your content and I try to catch every video. You're making that place shine, and it's incredible. A lot of people won't think of it, especially those not experienced with dogs. But a wise man told me a few years ago that he refused to cut my granite if the dog was in the room. Years later when I had a plumber work, I took my dog outside.. Please don't let your dog be in earshot of a tool like that. We don't really know what they feel. A dog's hearing is important; they can hear a car coming a mile away and recognize that it's you. Hate to be a downer, but it's for the best, and my conscience demanded it. ❤

Janey, the diamond patio looks great! I was so nervous when you were walking backwards with that heavy fountain, that you were going to misstep. I would install a suction mounted hummingbird feeder to your daughters window (we love ours) or even hang a feeder from an eave or a decorative hanger so they can watch from within their room. Your secret shade garden room is going to be lovely!

You can cut asphalt with a circular saw that has a diamond blade. It’s asphalt bordering your front patio by the new diamond patio isn’t it? Then you don’t have to cut your diamond cement blocks. Snap a chalk line to get a straight edge so the cut is uniform and clean looking.

❤ Love the fountain. I have a fountain that my pump has accessories to add lights in the basin. They are small balls and have my choice to switch out colors. Then another pump choice makes fog. Summer time with the soft light in basin then the fog roll out. It is neat. Got it from a little shop in the mall near us that has since closed but I am sure you could find something on line. My fountain in my front yard, I have balls that float and light. Water friendly, battery operated. Those I got at Lowe’s. So pretty at night with the soft lights in the water.

Not to be a Debbie downer on the wood chips on top of cement is a disaster for walking since any larger chunks will never sink making a more level walking situation. Hence twisting ankles and just constantly walking on sharp edges. Assuming you meant putting chips on cement. I think it’s totally unsafe.

Janey, the paver that broke in the wrong place might be a good fit next to the zigzag planter, and a full paver would finish the other side of the entry courtyard. When Jason pushed the drill bit through the non-dripping side of the fountain bowl it dislodged anything blocking the water flow, maybe do that on the other side also to even out the water flow. You and Jason (along with Monte's help) got so much accomplished today, great teamwork. I love seeing your family work together in your videos.
