Been waiting to see other peoples opinion on the new Finn. I have been struggling with him post nerf. He is like a totally diff character. I find myself struggling to actually kill against strong players. They know to lookout for the backpack, so i end up having to juggle them like crazy. Skill issue im sure lol, but i went frim like an 85% win rate to probably a 60%

it's not just you don't worry. The rework in the dodge mechanic as well as start up/ lag end, and hit box ranges is a new learning curve for all of us! definitely going to take a lot of practicing but he's still good, they all are!

i didnt play beta so i can't compare pre-nerf, but holy shit he feels completely fucking useless. the only wins i've gotten are when im barely getting hit at all cus he dies so easily and spiking is the only way to kill anyone before getting them to 120 damage

The knockdown power and damage on his sword is awful compared to other characters basic smashes. I've noticed when clashing attacks (attacking into an attack) Finn seems to lose more often than win against most characters, particularly Bruisers. The amount of times I've swung a fully charged smash into shaggy or banana guard's side special and gotten cooked is absurd. His sword is also a strikeable hurtbox, completely cracked. The dash backpack attack is basically all sweetspot at the end, very delayed, and very easy to interrupt by just attacking into it, unlike most other char dash attacks that come out pretty quickly. Frankly he's definitely on the weaker side and requires keeping constant pressure and juggling to win against pretty much anyone. Has the tools to juggle into a backpack spin ringout, but it takes more work to pilot Finn than most other chars I've tried. He does have pretty good reach but his hitboxes are narrower and shorter than the model makes them appear to be on certain attacks, namely the up smash which only seems to strike up and in front, not directly overhead or up & behind at all, despite the sweep of the sword indicating it should. His neutral smash has a deceptively short hitbox too, ending just at the tip of the sword, where most other characters seem to extend 10-20% beyond the actual length of the weapon. I feel like they reduced his hitboxes without adjusting the model or animations. Scaling his sword down 5-10% in size would make his hitboxes feel less jank, presuming they aren't going to actually fix his issues.

@@XatumiVSnah Finn used to have a gem he would throw and he could teleport to it, it’s pretty like minato but they removed it for whatever dumbass reason

It was his air down special but they removed it and replaced it with the shittiest backpack move
