The line “can’t believe I’ll have to live through that” has to be on of the saddest lines I’ve heard in a song. My worst fear is losing my parents and knowing one day it will happen kills me.

i might be overthinking this but the stuff i noticed are: 1- he is in a car that is not driven by him (in the backseat)showing how one cant control life 2-as he opens up the window lets in the air I think it might be his reflecting on his thoughts 3- I also think car ride represents life because in the end when he is not in the car anymore, it still goes on. just like life, with or without you it goes on.

If Adele’s Easy On Me makes people want to get a divorce even when they’re unmarried, Finneas’ “Love is Pain” makes you want to cry and realise love is really pain although some of us are lucky to not have felt the same. Powerful and beautiful. Hits the emotion hard. Love it!

I don't think I've ever heard a song of Finneas that hasn't successfully pulled me in immediately... he has such an enchanting way with words and expressing their meaning perfectly in a melody and singing style. I was distractedly listening to a random playlist for hours and this song came up which I have never heard before and got me to stop what I was doing and just listening.

This song is so deep it’s difficult to truly understand it at first… but I think all of us have an underlying dread that we try our best to ignore, and that is the impermanence of life. Its extremely painful to consciously realize that we will die, even though it’s obvious. It’s even more painful to be aware of the fact that those we love will die, especially our parents. This song captures this feeling so well, I can’t help but cry every time I listen to it.

In every instance that FINNEAS illustrated that love can hurt in a song, it's always been about how it aches to imagine losing the people you love. And in that regard, love can hurt, because grief and the anticipation of its possibility is always there. Losing someone you love is the scariest thing.
