Säkkijärven polkka: • Finnish Folk Song - Sä...
The "Jäger March" (Finnish: "Jääkärimarssi", originally "Jääkärien marssi"), Op. 91a, is a military march by Jean Sibelius. He set in 1917 words written by the Finnish Jäger, Hilfsgruppenführer Heikki Nurmio who served in Libau, in the Royal Prussian 27th Jäger Battalion of the Imperial German Army. This unit was fighting against the Russian Empire, of which the Grand Duchy of Finland still was a part. The words were smuggled into Finland to Sibelius, who composed the song in Järvenpää. Sibelius wrote the "Jäger March" originally for men's chorus and piano, and later arranged it for men's chorus and symphony orchestra. The first public performance of Jäger March was in Helsinki on 19 January 1918 by the choir Akademiska sångföreningen, led by Olof Wallin. The Finnish Civil War began on the same day between the White and the Red troops. The march is the honorary march of many army detachments.

@Sanctified Demoman I was reacting to his comments sounding like a citation from the book, not because of content, but rather the rhetoric and language used. And communists are bullshit, especially in the Stalinist edition, but Nazis are worse. Sincerely, a person from a country that has experienced both.

Es nur einfach eine übermacht unausgebildeter Bauern war was eben euer Prinzip ist weil euch das Leben eurer Leute am Arsch vorbei geht. Der Winterkrieg und die folge Kriege halte ich für korrekte Reaktionen. Den Angriff auf die Sowjetunion halte ich persönlich allerdings auch als unnötig da keine Gefahr im Osten bestand. This is slower version with kind of "lazy" singing. I prefer the faster more aggressive version which captures original jäger spirit better.

@@kahenkilonsiika4210 Sadly, Rotary International canceled every exchange student's trips for 2021, the district I'm a part of fought for a long time with Rotary International to let the students of the world travel to their new countries. I'll still be able to do the exchange programme, however it will have to be a shorter time because I want to graduate on time in America where I live. I can't wait to see your wonderful Suomi!

I Agree. But.. No Finns Hate ordinary Russians. We hate the policies of “your” country and the repression and distortion policies of Russia & propaganda. Otherwise. Relations between Finns and Russia will improve as soon as the President of Russia wants to give Russian citizens permission to buy and order consumer goods from Finland, etc. It would also be nice if Finns could also go on a shopping trip to Russia. That is one more thing. Then when the Russian state returns to Finland the part of Finland (Karelia & Petsamo) that is now wrongly connected to Russia!

Eihän se sota koskaan ole mukava asia mutta jos täytyy sotia, niin soditaan sitten ja kun sotimaan aletaan, niin silloin mennäänkin ja pitkälle. Sota ei koskaan ole hyvä asia mutta tätä karjalan palautusta on käsitelty aikaisemminkin. Esimerkiksi Mihail Gorbatšov & Boris Nikolajevitš Jeltsin jopa tarjosivat menetettyä Karjalaa Suomelle takasin vuosina 1990-1993. Valitettavasi silloinen Suomen kansanedustajalaitos, hallitus ja Presidentti Mauno Koivisto eivät oikein lämmenneet tuolle Karjalan palautus asialle. Tälle miksi Koivisto torppasi Karjalan palautuksen niin löytyy useitakin teorioita jos vaan sitä oikeaa tietoa osaa etsi. Joissain tietolähteissä on maininta siitä kun Koivisto oli Turusta lähtöisin. Koivisto, ehken pelkäsi sitä, mitä tapahtuu Porilaisille, Raumalaisille & Turkulaisille satamille ja telakoille kun Suomi saisi Petsamon takaisin. Petsamosta kun pääsee Barentsin ja Norjan merelle suoraan ja sitä kautta rahtilaivojen toimitukset toiselle puolelle palloa saisi toimitus ja matkaedun kun ei tarvitse tulla itämeren kautta.
