One can see how important it is to learn to handle all the non-gun parts of the process - slings, skiing, managing poles, etc. take a lot of time.

Being able to quickly turn around on skis would save you a lot of time as well as leaving the ski stick loops around your wrists. Huge respect doing all that in that clothing. My fingers fall off just looking at it. I'm glad this smaller brutality version could still be held. I hope you both take part in the next one in October too. Looking forward to the other footage.

Nice job I ran my Remote Brutality with my Garand and SVT40 ran it twice have a partially torn rotator cuff fell down a couple times while going prone good job

Love how Jari pointed out the muzzle in the beginning but he didint stop the contest since he knew it wasent loaded yet and didint pose a danger for the ppl behind but he reminded the shooter to controll the muzzle towards the right direction. But yeah if you havent skied alot IRL and then suddenly having to pull a gun out i can see how its hard to do it in a "right" way.

The Kasarda drill in snowy conditions has an element built into it that snow will get into sights eventually. In the Finnish military pretty much nothing taking two hands is done without the weapon strapped or taking a "German knee" and placing the muzzle of the rifle on top of your supporting leg's boots heel. A standard procedure. Throwing something with both arms is not in any military training as far as I know. I've been proven wrong though. Good sport however.

I did a particularly shitty two week arctic exercise with the Canadian Army a number of years ago (Obama was President) and we didn't wear our helmets either and ran around in the arctic white bank robber balaclava we got issued, which was much better. Temperatures were between -45 and -60c. Awful.

Any info on the skis, did you have to use the same ones? They almost look like asnes mt65 w/ nato 120 bindings. How did the Finns handle the skiing shooting combo (a bit better or a lot better)?

Question for Bloke and the crowd. Is there any reason, aside from breaking the 180 in this case, why you wouldn't want to do a 1-arm kettlebell swing during the kasarda drill? Are you required to place your firearm on the ground prior to doing the swing? There's really no mechanical advantage to using two arms if your technique is sound. Most of the force is generated by the hip-hinge so you could theoretically toss the thing just as far while saving yourself a few seconds by not putting your rifle down.

Is there any video of the Finns running this? In particular would love to see people that are experienced at cross country skiing with guns.

Any particular reason you didn't or weren't allowed to zero the guns before the match by the way? seems both of you could have done a lot better if you knew how your guns would work with that ammo at that temperature and not have to find out on the clock.
