Fiona! When I was really young and my English wasn't good enough to both listen and read and process it all at the same time...I still read Lord of the Rings while playing, among other tracks from 'When the Pawn' - Get Gone. For me the song 'Get Gone' has forever become associated with Frodo, Sam, Pippin and Merry's departure from the Shire. A bit weird, I know, in hindsight. Unless maybe if you make it "So put away that ring you're selling..." Still that very, almost whimsical piano opening was perfect for me. Happy memories, and now this. Goodness...

I was pleasantly surprised when I first heard this as I was listening to the soundtrack of The Rings of Power shortly before the episodes starting airing. Fiona Apple + Lord of the Rings, is like a match made in heaven just like Fiona Apple + Nightmare Before Christmas - Sally's Song.

Oh god, I have goosebumps all over! I've never been a fan of these movies but am a huge Ms. Apple fan so, can someone tell me if she actually sings the music for these movies or is she just having fun?

She did just this one, and not for the movies but as the conclusion of the last episode of Season 1 of the TV series. Personally I think the treatment of the rings in the TV series and especially that episode was so badly bollixed as to undercut the gravity of this performance.
