I have a lot of respect for musicians who have the voice and go to a genre that is not so popular but they love what they do instead of trying everything to go to the mainstream music.

I'm sentimental, so I walk in the rain I've got some habits, even I can't explain Go to the corner, and I end up in Spain Why try to change me now? But that can't be, because I can't see My strange little world just go passing me by So let people wonder, let 'em laugh, let 'em frown You know I'll love you tillthe moon's upside down Don't you remember I was always your clown? Frank didn't write this.. He covered it and added to his catalog, But a lyricist by the name of Joseph mcCarthy wrote the lyrics.. Cy coleman wrote the music part .. It's been done/covered by a number of artists since it was written in 1952 for Independent Publication... Sinatra recorded it for the first time shortly after that..

You are so wrong. Her parents were both performers, yes. But she was not sheltered, nor rich, nor protected. Do YOUR research. You think she can give a performance like without ever having been through some sort of trauma? Oh please. You clearly know nothing about her. You don't deserve to.
@m.a.g.39207 жыл бұрын
Even if all that was true you´re not talking about her ability to write and perform that is what really counts. Odes to herself? well, I would like to hear ego-odes from everybody if the results are as amazing and creative as Fiona does. The power of jazz is not only affection transmited through having overcome poor situations, and in anycase her deep feeling could come from inner woes that in fact every human being could feel, those that has nothing to do with their shelters or lack of, that´s why she´s so effective.
@swanportermusic7 жыл бұрын
+Marissa 87 My issue lies with your mention of "struggle" as if it's appropriate to consider one persons pain any more important or worthy of regard due to the "era" they're from or whatever other circumstance. Its such a naive thing to say. I don't know Fiona personally, (if anyone here does please speak up), but I'm confident in saying that she would totally disagree with you. Pain is pain. Struggle is struggle. No matter the severity. The way in which she processes that and forms it into art is no less worthy of acknowledgement or reverence. She deserves to stand side by side with the artists mentioned above. Just as anyone else with the same talent would.
