Question: why is the onus on the man to make things clear. The woman too can speak up and add clarity to the situation, especially to help persuade the man into a direction no? But I genuinely think Qoy and the women who side with what she’s saying have commitment issues and that’s how they end up in these situations where they’re just dating, because if there wasn’t a fear of commitment, you’d lock off anything that doesn’t agree with what you want. Yes there’s pressure when it’s just me and you, but regardless the day you lock off your sides, the pressure with surface. You can’t avoid it if you’re looking to settle down one day. Go ahead and date, but for how long are you going to be dating. How many man are you going to say you like and never push for exclusivity both on your own end and by communicating to the guy you like?

I think people have different definitions of dating. Dating is getting to know someone. I need to know you to an extent to commit. That takes time. Time is of the essence. Time will let you know how serious something is. If two people are dating and explored options along the way yet they keep coming back to each other, what does that say? I guess chivalry died/changed when: A) we started seeing more of the lives of celebrity relationships via social media or shows like keeping up with kardahsians and love island and how we are exposed to so many instances of toxicity people are now more scared and have a pessimistic view on romance B) the narrative storylines of RnB changing. It felt back in the day though there was toxicity in RnB, the idea of love and still going out of your way for someone whether they are in a relationship, or to not give up on the idea of love was promoted. Nowadays, love isn’t promoted, it’s more of get them back if they cheated, get into relationships with doing the least amount of effort, and if someone hurt you, give up on love and be independent. If anything, nowadays there somehow a correlation with toxicity and love because it’s “effort, passion”
