Fiona Phillips- In The End (So Weird)

A vid centered on Fi's quest to determine the truth behind her father's death. Twenty years later and I am still sad that this fantastic storyline was forced to be dropped by Disney. It still pains me to watch Lightning Rod immediately after season 2 because Fi was so determined to find out the truth that she was willing to hitchhike across the country if she had to. For her to then turn around and give HER DEAD DAD'S RING to a girl she just met before leaving her family for the school year to live a normal life is just... cringe. She literally tried so hard and got so far and in the end it didn't even matter.
Fi Phillips deserved better.

This is SOOOO EPIC, its the best one you have made!! It feels like its building up to the original season 3. I love all your videos but this one feels like it ADDS particular depth and meaning to the series. Fantastic job!!... Also, I don't think that Fi, who is so determined that she would hitchhike across the country to find out the truth, would just go to Aunt Melina's for a "normal life." She went because it was a friendlier, most hospitable place to further the investigation - and quite a selfless act as well... as least how it goes in my book ;)

Thank you!! :D I've been wanting to do an edit like this for a while, showing the parallels between Will O The Wisp and Strange Geometry in how twice Fi gets so close to meeting her dad but gives it up to do this right thing. This song was so perfect for it and perfect for how I feel Fi's journey was treated when Cara left-- like it didn't even matter. I still wish Fi had given the ring to Jack and he had continued the investigation as he discovered his past as a knight. Fi's story itself is just EPIC and I'm glad to hear I did it justice :)

@@poufsouffledoodle There are a lot of kids out there who have lost a parent, and I tried to be true to that feeling for Fi, even though in the real world we can't get our parents back when they're gone. But all of us have that feeling of loss about something, and it resonated just as deeply with me. I'm glad it resonated with you too - it was beautiful to see all the moments of that story (including what Molly knew and wasn't saying) put together. The song is perfect.

It still bugs me too. I remember as a kid So Weird was the show I looked forward to most (I'd watch them every premire so I remember the awesome episode where Rick saved Fi from the wraith.. but I also remember the bizarre departure of Fi and how her decision to close the door to the paranormal was so poorly done) and it's still such a pity that So Weird's writers weren't allowed to do the storyline they intended to. I wish they could leak a few of those planned scripts and let fans do a fan comic or fan-animatic or something because I really want to know how it would have ended up if Cara Deliza didn't leave the show and the writers were changed.

I would love a fan comic or something like that! There are notes from the original season 3, including a draft of a Bermuda Triangle episode available on the So Weird proboards forum. You should definitely check it out if you haven't seen it already! They had so much awesome stuff planned. I don't fault Cara for leaving at all and really wish they had passed the torch on to Jack and continued with him as the lead, uncovering his past life as a knight. It could have still been great if they let the showrunners stay and hadn't revamped the show with Annie. At least we can rewatch the glory of seasons 1-2 whenever we want on Disney Plus now.

If they revamped this show, it probably wouldn't be the same anyway. They don't put the love in like the did in the 90's shows.
