Fire alarm is life safety equipment, it's there to help get you out of the building in case of a fire or emergency. So that few seconds/minutes that you're startled is better than not knowing that you need to get out of the building In a hotel you would never now that the building is on fire until it was too late. They have to meet a specific sound level and frequency at pillow hight from all areas in the main room.

The sound system also cuts out to prevent any conflict when evacuation instructions are given through the fire alarm audio.

By default, they come with Wheelock fire alarm signals. So it'd probably be an Exceder horn/strobe.

They have another room in this building with a ceiling mount concealed speaker strobe just like the one in the video.

They are using a separate power source, Relay activates on alarm powering the motor rotating the notification device.

Because by default they came with Wheelock devices. The horn/strobe version used to come with a Wheelock AS, but now it comes with an Exceder. Now that Wheelock's discontinued the E50, it wouldn't surprise me if the speaker/strobe version starts coming with an Eluxa LED speaker/strobe.

Yes it does reconceal on reset. It does draw quite a bit, using separate power supply.

it is most likely using an EST panel, and the sounds a speaker strobe makes are only controlled by the panel, not the alarm itself.

The OP explained it in reply to another comment here. He said that the alarm is mounted to a movable panel in the wall (the one you see flipping over when it sounds), and that the flipping is done by an electric motor hidden behind the wall. The motor is powered by a separate power supply from the alarm, and is triggered by a relay connected to the fire alarm panel. If you listen closely when the alarm first goes off, you can actually hear the motor whirring as it flips the panel over and reveals the alarm. Pretty cool stuff! Also pretty scary stuff if you’re afraid of fire alarms, as you’ll never see this one coming-literally. I’m not anymore, thankfully, but I used to be when I was younger, so it’s worth saying. Just cross your fingers that there’s not a Spectralert Advance on the backside of that panel when it flips over…

No, this is a notification device. The initiating devices are not in the view of the audience, until egress.

The Device shown is a Wheelock speaker strobe, I'm not sure of the model, as Wheelock makes another model of speaker strobe called the e70, but the e70 has the strobe in the center instead of over the speaker
