For a long time, I've always wondered why EXIT signs are not connected to the fire panel to flash or change color when the panel goes into alarm. I'm glad to see that someone else had the same thought!

Kinda reminds me of my dad's office. The main alarms there are Wheelock MT-24-LSM's set to horn, high volume. Believe me, that is my loudest experience I have had, at least. The pull stations are Simplex 2099-9795 single action T-bars. And there are also EST Genesis horn/strobes in the garage with Chevron pulls that are rebranded Faraday.

It might not be a drill it could just be an annual test/inspection. I know there were editing involved but all of the scenes including the one at the beginning when the system is first triggered show the halls as empty so that is what makes me thing it's a test or inspection.

When did the flashing exit lights come available on fire alarm systems? I know originally the sound indicators were the first invented. Then eventually lights that lit up while the alarm sounds came out. I think the fire doors came before the indicator lights but I may be wrong. And eventually the strobes were invented. Now days even smoke ventilation fans which technically suck the heat out of the building during an alarm in the winter.

The panel needs Wheelock sync enabled because this the unsynchronized is a not up to code system

Is that the buildings second fire alarm system? I noticed many of the Wheelock AS horn/strobes had the tubing around the wiring with the electrical box outside the wall and most buildings the original fire alarm system is wired completely inside the wall and alot of buildings now days from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and some even from the 70s the original fire alarm system was disabled and replaced with a more modern system. All 4 of the schools I attended no longer have their original system. Both of my elementary schools along with my middle school had the original system during my attendance and my high school renovated before my attendance so they had a modern system which was wired inside the walls as the school underwent renovation. And for my other 3 schools. My first Elementary (opened in 77) now days the pull stations are wired inside the wall as they are the same mounts as the originals as the signals are wired outside of the walls. And my second Elementary school (opened in 65) along with my middle school (opened in 56) now days the pull stations and the indicators are wired outside of the walls. And my middle school some of the original single stroke fire bells are still there but not active. My high school opened in 49 but underwent renovation from 96-99 so basically all locations of the original fire alarms both pull stations and bells the modern pull stations and horn strobes were installed where the original pull stations and bells were. Along with additional horn strobes in rooms where noise is common and strobes in all classrooms.

Sure. A sync module is a device that synchronizes horns and strobes so that they sound and flash at precisely the same time without any delays. The alarms in this video are not connected to any such module.
