Why is the fan restarting when the fire alarm system is reset? In my Jurisdiction the fan has to be restart manually not automatically when the FA system is reset. How would you meet the manual restart requirement with PAM relay set up?

Why would you want to have fan shutdown on all zones? Itsn't it more sensible to have fan shutdown only on the "affected" zones, so if the fan in question is in a duct between basement and first floor, you would have fan shutdown only on those zones and ignore second floor? Also, I think it does make some sense which direction the fan is blowing... You don't want the fan to suck in smoke and distribute it to other rooms, or have the fan feed air to fires in those zones, but if fan goes to outdoor, you definitely even want to START that fan in case of a fire to suck out as much smoke as possible. So it really needs to be tought out airflows and how you WANT airflows to go when there is a fire in a certain zone. Also many commercial duct fans have a 24v fan shutdown input, so you could skip the 120V relay and wire the 24V relay directly to fan. And by wiring only 24V, you are only working on low-voltage side and thus you don't need a licensed electrician. Or if you have a thermostat with fan output, you can put a 24V NC relay on this, so it will break the GREEN wire (often marked G inside thermostat) when fire alarm activates. Also a non-licensed-electrician install since you are only working with so called SELV voltage. By putting a relay on GREEN wire, both thermostat and fire alarm must be in agreement before fan is allowed to run. If either fire alarm OR thermostat says NO, fan wont run. Also makes sense to also break W cable (WHITE --> heating), by using a 2 pole relay, in case the heating system is the cause of fire.
