That signal tone was used for lockdown drills at my high school. Following the signal tone would be a recorded message telling everyone to shelter in place.

We have a Telecenter that has A Function that can close all Fire Doors. The Tone is Hi-Lo. It is a PA system, and is equipped with Push Talk Buttons that are around the school campus

Sounds just like my high school. We have life alarm speakers on 4903-9101 strobe plates with a few TrueAlerts here and there. It also plays the Hi-Lo tone.

Why were there 82 troubles on the panel?
@noanekro35178 жыл бұрын
The panel logs every event that happens within the system, which is why there are so many troubles. From my understanding, you cant delete these logs as per code either. Also, when a system is in test mode, things like the DACT (Digital Alarm Communicator/Transmitter) cease to function in order to prevent contacting the monitoring station and causing the trucks to roll when there is no actual fire.

NJMoo3652 I had various control points disabled in other areas of the facility I was not testing at the time.
@safetech7 жыл бұрын
Noah Krankowsky You are partially correct. The history is stored in the historical logs and will not generate troubles. I had points disabled in other areas at the facility where I wasn't testing at that time.

I just found your channel, I love these kinds of videos. Subscribed. Also, I love that Simplex HiLo Sound! Was there a fire message that played with the HILO? My school set their new system on HILO tone only. I think it sounds cool, i kind of wish they would have still used voice.

Thanks for viewing! Yes, come to find out on my second visit to the facility there's a custom message announcing "code red" & gives a location of device(s) tripped.
@GaryBeltz8 жыл бұрын
So the message says something like "May I have your attention please code red ER, code red ER. Please remain calm! DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS! Please standby for further instructions!"

At the hospital I used to work at for many years, their fire alarm system is also a HUGE Simplex 4100U system that's used for three of the hospital's buildings. Actually it's two separate 4100U panels with the main one controlling the two older buildings and a 2nd panel for the newest building. They're tied in together and provides fire alarm/monitoring for all three buildings; except that when the alarm is activated and the strobes/audible signals sound everywhere in these three buildings, the fire doors only close automatically in the building where the alarm was triggered from. When the alarm is activated there, it does a 3 second horn 500 hz tone followed by a chime. Then there will be an automated announcement "Fire alarm....Please do not pass thru the fire barrier doors....such and such building.... such and such floor.....such and such room...." This message is repeated twice with two chimes sounding in between the message repeating. Then after the message goes three times, then it will go into the chime sound and repeat continuously until the system is silenced and then reset.

Why would they put two pulls two detectors and a speaker strobe as well as the strobe? Is there a reason?
@safetech9 жыл бұрын
That is simply a display showing all the different devices on the system. They aren't connected to anything.

So i have a question when they do fire drills do you know if they use the drill voice message or do they just pull the alarm when they have fire drills there?
@GaryBeltz8 жыл бұрын
Well unless the drill message was altered imho it's not very practical for a setting like a hospital since the default one says "This is a drill x3 All occupants report to the nearest stairway exit door and await further orders. DO NOT ENTER STAIRWAY!" It would cause too many traffic jams etc.
@armaniwilliams57525 жыл бұрын
Pulled or by panel activation. It plays A custom Code red message. With the pull that was tripped
@sfs20405 жыл бұрын
I can tell you at the hospital I work at when the alarm sounds they always specify of it's a drill or not over the PA. There's only ever been a few legit alarms and thankfully they were never severe cases or even real fires.

Probably disabled for the test (hence the trouble) or the monitoring center knew ahead of time that there was a test and to disregard alerts

Why does the system go into trouble when there is a dirty smoke detector? I've seen it happen before
@sfs20405 жыл бұрын
A dirty detector may have its sensor impeded, which means it may not detect a fire as quickly if at all.
