its pretty neat to see a beam detector in action, as you said there isnt much content on it. it would be interesting to see how it reacts if it gets blocked by lets say a balloon for exaple. great vid thanks for sharing.

My high school had something like that but different. Once it got blocked by a balloon and set of the fire alarm, this happened when I was in 9th grade, I think

I had a video but at the time I didn't have the means to get to the detectors lol they were about 23 Ft up I always had one get off alignment because of the building movement.

What make and model is this device? I notice it’s close to the ceiling. Does that ever present any false signals? The install manual for mine says the beam detector needs to have a 20” clear radius!

how was it wired to your fire alarm control panel? was it digital or analog signal?

It's works with wiring. And digital panel .

What to do if there is a red light stays ON and green light blinks ? And reset switch won't work. What could be the fault ?

These devices need extra power to power up... In which 2 wire of loop...one is loop in and second is loop out...for next device...nd same like 24vdc for power in and out... One beam detector range is 5 to 50 meter...

Nathaniel Rivera It can be used to cover large areas that may not be suitable for point type detectors. It’s also a cost saving measure. One beam detector can protect the same area as many smoke detectors
