Fire alarms going off at my college

5 ай бұрынI was able to catch 2 of the dorm buildings on campus in alarm during their fire drills. One system is older with what appears to be the original system sensor MASS notification from the 90s while the other has newer siemens equipment. Weirdly the second building is the only one on campus (that im aware of) that has siemens and not notifier.

This sometimes happened at my high school and it was a false alarm and the PA overhead message said to disregard the fire alarm because it was a malfunction in the fire alarm panel due to the frigid cold weather.

Interesting fact about the oddball Siemens fire alarm setup among all the Notifier systems in that campus. My college has a similar thing, where all but three of our systems are multiple eras of FCI/Gamewell FCI. The “oddballs” are two EST 3 voice evacuation systems and an old Simplex voice evacuation system.

Cool! Love the System Sensor Sounder Strobes! They're starting to become very rare nowadays. Strobes are way out of sync. The Siemens in the other building sounds like Simplex 4903-9236 horn strobes.

My college has Simplex Truealert speaker strobes, along with System Sensor Spectralert classic speaker strobes leading to the parking garage.
